Big news involving this UT player will come out either tomorrow or early next week. Somebody took his ACT test for him. That isn't especially big news. The big news is an attorney has a VIDEO tape of this person accepting cash from a prominent UT booster complete with his instructions on how to perform on that test, who he is taking it for, and its importance to the Tennessee football program. This person has signed an affidavit that he took the test under false pretenses and that he received money from not only a UT booster, but from someone he believes to be a UA representative as well. The motives of all involved will become very clear in the coming days. This is Blockbuster material.

Maybe the rumors of a bomb are true?

Why on earth would parties to a fraudulent act video-tape themselves? And, since Swain went to UT, why would a UA rep be giving the same person money - and also allow himself to be video-taped? It doesn't make sense.

Ditto. Another "bomb" that sounds more like a dud to me. So what, was someone sitting 100 yards away with a camera filming what is "definitely people exchanging money to take an ACT and even though I'm 100 yards away I know that's what it has to be" or someone with a pair camera sunglasses paying this patsy off? Come on, let's be realistic.

If this is on one tape, all that's mentioned, were the two "reps" giving the ringer money at the same time? If so, it would appear that a fist-fight would have broken out. It was probably really a drug deal...

I understand why you guys are skeptical, but it sounds to me like this person set utee up and had it staged to accept the money where his/her camera was set up. Also, it does not go beyond the realm of possibility that he/she had a wire and the sound was recorded along with the video. That's my impression. If it isn't that then I'll jump off my band wagon and climb on yours.

If it were Dud, it'd be probably cash for sex worked in there somewhere. If it were a setup, why did the ringer wait this long to spring it? Were they behind on their blackmail installments? I hope he's got good protection. Remember Philip Shanks...

Is it entirely crazy to think both reps could have worked to get Swain elgible? I mean both have a chance to outbid for the guy after he's qualified.

Roller, yes, it would have been crazy. All of us up here knew that Swaim was bought, paid for and trussed up in a pretty gift package with orange ribbons. No one, even our dumbest boosters, would have cooperated in such an enterprise. The statement about a "UA rep" is a UT fan whistling past the graveyard...
