Six months ago people on this board would give money to keep JR around for another year. Funny how things change. Their backups are still quite good.

Although I would love to see Jamarcus return next year, I feel very confident in what we have returning. The favorite to win the starting job is Matt Flynn whose only start was against Miami- I think he represented himself well. He was also highly rated coming out of highschool and gave Jamarcuss all he could handle in competition for the starting QB. Right behind him is R. Perriloux who was the #1 all purpose QB out of high school 2yrs. ago. He was a Commit to Texas and would be starting there right now (Colt McCoy was our commit) if Les Miles wasn't coach of LSU.
The problem with Jamarcus came in his usually having to bail out the team in the last minute due to mistakes that he made earlier in the game. However, he seems to have turned the corner these last 7 games and would be a terror next year.

Being a Bama fan it seems like Jamarcus has been @ LSU for 15 -20 years. ;) Matt Flynn is impressive IMHO and will only get better with more reps.

Whats up with Perriloux, has he played at all?

Hometown boy makes good. Glad to see it. I just hate he will not be able to play in the Senior Bowl at home.

RP has played garbage time only. It seems like CLM likes to play one QB only. Hopefully he can inject RP occasionally like Florida and Georgia like to do. As much as I would like to see R. Perriloux be the starting QB, I hope it doesn't happen because that would mean that Flynn had probably done poorly and we would have lost a game or two because of it.

I'm glad he's leaving because he was getting more consistent every year.

I'll have to admit, though, that I love watching him throw....

When Brodie threw a bullet, he had to use his whole body... when JR does it, it's just a casual flick of the wrist...

Since when did real Bama fans want to play weaker teams? Victories are pretty shallow when they come against teams that aren't at full strength. I doubt beating us the last few years has meant much to many teams because most teams have been beating us. I want all the teams we play to be at full strength so they don't have any excuses when we beat them, and if we play a team that beats us, we tip our caps and say good game. Being a Bama fan has nothing to do with being afraid of other teams.

Ya think he's learned that the SEC (or college ball in general) is a little tougher than high school? I think he thought he was going to be an instant impact player and beat out Russell. But Russell had other plans
