I heard part of his Jox roundtable interview and caught I thought what they said. Saying that his best visit was to an out of state school. Did anyone hear it and can you clarify what he said?
His interview contained no relevant information except that he hadn't talked to Les Miles in a month and that he will likely announce before signing day on ESPN.
From the beginning I've heard alot of folks say he is a lock for Alabama and while I'm sure Alabama will be a strong contender I in no way think his mind is made up, he can go anywhere he pleases. We just need to chill out because its going to be a while and if we don't get him, ints not like we have chopped liver at wideout in this class, we already have skill on board, adding JJ would be a very nice iceing on the cake, and would provide us a great matchup problem to exploit for years, but one player rarely if ever makes or breaks a program, even the re-incarnation of Jesus Christ a.k.a. Tim Tebow wasn't good enough to take them to Atlanta this year.
Julio was on jox during lunch, and he said " coaches call me trying to sell their offense to me, like oklahoma passing for 500 yards a game etc, but ya know, once bama gets a new QB in that system, they gonna be able to throw the ball too"
even he knows JPW isnt the answer......sorry i could not resist that comment just kinda stuck out to me.
That isn't what sticks out to me. Sounds like he likes Bama and knows he can fit in the offense just as well here as OU.
I agree about keeping him HOME. I know one player doesnt a team make but I saw Moss in college and he was a difference maker in the outcome period. Julio reminds me a lot of Moss. He is the stud of this years recruiting.
You have to wonder if that's a Julio Jones observation or a UA coaching observation fed to Julio in a recruiting pitch. Either way its safe to say the offense this year even with all the talent at WR is not a recruiting tool.Julio was on jox during lunch, and he said " coaches call me trying to sell their offense to me, like oklahoma passing for 500 yards a game etc, but ya know, once bama gets a new QB in that system, they gonna be able to throw the ball too"

.........and I believe that will be a major selling point for Bama.It doesn't hurt having Star talking with him on a regular basis.....

That is one very good reason Bama fans should not be publicly bashing the QB. JPW was a pretty good QB last year and he can be again, with adequate protection and a good running game.
This thread will not be turned into a pro/con JPW thread. Take that to the FB.
I will say one thing about it and hopefully no one else will pile on one way or the other. JPW's performance was on TV for everyone to watch and it spoke for itself, especially the later part of the season.
Now back to recruiting please...
