Julio Jones Name?

I had no idea. I think that I'll call him Gladiator now. Quintorris is actually a cool name too. Is Julio Jones Hispanic at all?

I knew. He got 'Julio' because the kids he grew up with couldn't pronounce his name...or something like that.

Quintorris is Latin for "double team, or else". Its also Cherokee for "he who is victim of constant no-calls by zebras".

Great read, and every Bama fan should to read the whole story that is linked........
Julio Jones is a smart kid, and we've watch his effort on the field even when he isn't catching passes. Jones always blocks hard, and runs good routes all the time, even when the ball isn't suppose to come to him. BamaNation is very lucky to have a player like Julio Jones.

Plus, I love what Jones Uncle says below:
"Sam Jones said his nephew chose Alabama because of Saban, the one coach who "didn't promise him anything." Still, Jones earned a starting spot almost immediately after arriving at Alabama."
Promising the world to recruits will lead to problems before all is said & done. The fact Jones was able to see past all the smoke & mirrors, says alot about him........

:BigA: ROLL TIDE :BigA:

I also found it interesting that he confided in no one before the decision to come to Bama. It was his secret, up to the very end. Even Saban didn't know on NSD.

Sounds like a man with layers...

He also said he was going to get his degree while he is at Alabama. I hope he is on the 4 year plan.

Julio comes from the root word Jewel which according to the Phoenecians meant, "he who cannot fish without peace".

Interesting stuff...
