Kentucky vs South Carolina: Pick 'em

Game is at Kentucky. The Vegas line is a "pick 'em". Color me surprised. If Kentucky doesn't suffer a letdown, I think they win by 10 or more.

Discuss.

Both have great defenses, but only one of the offenses seems to have turned the corner, and that's South Carolina. The fact is, too many people are reading into Kentucky hanging around in the game against us. If we played the way we are capable of, that game is over quick. However, we allowed them to stay in it. Long story short, Vegas is overlooking an improving USC-East squad. I think the Gamecocks win by seven or more in Lexington.

I'm with you and think the Gamecocks win by three or four points. Our poor play made Ky look good. They do have a very good defensive line, but so does USC.
I think the ole ball coach out smarts them.

This goes against my better judgement, but it is just a hunch.

Tough call. Kentucky's offense will need to step up or their defense will have to force a lot of turnovers in order to win IMHO. I could see the latter happening.

Like it was mentioned before if UK cats win it makes us look better. And if the cats were able to hang 14 on us I have no dought they can put at least 21 or more on the gamecocks.

UK 24
USC 17

...and they're playing at UK, GO CATS! :eek2:

If the same crew of officials work the game, and call it the same way against SC as they did against Bama, then UK wins easily.

It is unlikely that Kentucky's defense can play with the intensity it did last Saturday. USC actually has a passing game and can run enough to keep the Kentucky D honest. On the other hand, Kentucky's offense is pretty anemic while USC's defense, while not as good as ours, is pretty stout. In a close game I give the edge to SOS. USC 24 Kentucky 20.

our poor play on D made UK look better than they actually were.
the last TD was a gimme from our prevent D that really was garbage!!
USC put points on a pretty decent Ole Miss D, plus USC can play defense with the best of them. UK's D will keep this game close and Smelley is very inconsistent. bottom line, if UK can find an offense and score in the red zone, they will win. but UK's defense can't do it by themselves.

USC=28
UK=17

Kentucky has two physical advantages...their secondary and their defensive line.

USC has one advantage...their defensive line.

I don't think South Carolina's offense will be able to mount very many drives against UK.

Conversely...I don't think Kentucky will be able to do the same.

I think the difference will therefore be special teams, and this goes Kentucky's way hands down.
Plus, Kentucky is still so starved for a consistent winner that "home field" is definitely an advantage.

I personally think Kentucky's a pretty good football team.

In a low scoring game...Kentucky 16 USC 10...

USC leads late and Kentucky returns a punt for a touchdown.

Statistically USC's D is on par with Bama's and is 1st in pass D and 2nd in total D in the SEC. Ole Miss caught them off guard in 1st half, but after half-time adjustments they held the Rebs to 3 points.

USC's biggest problem this year has been turnovers. Don't create many and give too many away. This changed Saturday and is why USC beat Ole Miss. Protect the ball and USC beats KY.

Kentucky brought their "A" game to Tuscaloosa last week. They will suffer a letdown after losing. The Ol Ball Coach will have the Gamecocks ready to go. Gamecocks by 17 points.

im pretty sure both these teams have a weak offense and a strong deffense. I don't see either scoring more than 14 points.

I pick Kentucky

13-7
