Well, why be rich and privileged if you can't use it to your advantage?
[h=1]Kerry Kennedy Invokes Dad Robert Kennedy Minutes After Taking the Stand[/h]
"Daddy was the attorney general during the civil rights movement," Kerry Kennedy said after taking the stand today, explaining to jurors why she grew up in Virginia.
"I have 10 brothers and sisters. My mother raised us because my father died when I was 8," she said. Asked how he died, Kennedy said, "He was killed while running for president."

And as far as the crash goes...

Kennedy denied knowingly or intentionally taking zolpidem, the sleep medication better known as Ambien, on the morning of the car crash. She also denied realizing she was coming under its effects as she left her home and began driving in her SUV. When asked about her morning routine, Kennedy explained that on the morning of the crash she had a breakfast of cappucino and carrots. She had to go through a "15 or 20 step process" to prepare the cappuccino on a complicated-sounding coffee maker, and in the process said she mistook Ambien for Synthoid, the medication she takes daily for an underactive thyroid.

Have at it.

Your coffee maker gets you so confused that it impairs your ability to READ THE LABEL ON YOUR MEDICINE BOTTLE? Remind me to never let her use my new washing machine. ;) Besides, who cares if she took the Ambien accidentally? She took it, it impaired her, she got in a car and drove.

And invoking your dad's name at your DUI trial? Seriously?!? That's insulting to the court AND your dad's memory.

Funny how she didn't say "My dad was McCarthy's right-hand man" or "My grandpa was a Nazi sympathizer" or "My uncles liked to do it with underage girls."

She also failed to mention her dad was a womanizer as well as her uncles. She could also mention her other uncle was a massive alcoholic and killed a girl.

What's the saying? "If the facts are not in your favor, argue the statute. If the statute is not in your favor, argue the facts."
I guess we can add, if both are against you, remind everyone that you are a Kennedy, and therefore, flipping royalty, so the dadgum law does not apply.

I rarely miss an opportunity to post my favorite Ted pic. The one at the beach where he's standing beside the traffic cone.

Maybe later.

She bring that stuff up to get sympathy for all the tragedy that's befallen her family? Skiing into trees, drug overdoses, nighttime plane crashes, murdering the next door neighbor with a golf club...

It never has before. Why should it have to now?
