I didn't start hating uga until I moved here. My hatred comes darn close to 92tide's hatred.
Ive tailgated and gone to games with Auburn fans before, to include 1 iron bowl. I have over the years asked "how much do yall hate Alabama coming into town with this great run that we are on". They always said " we actually like Bama and LSU fans coming here because its always a fun time, but we wish we could ban UGA fans from stepping a foot into Lee County.". I always thought they were blowing smoke up my butt trying to keep me to tailgate with them, but I found out just how bad UGA fans are.

My first encounter with them was at the National Championship game. I had one dude just walk with me for a whole block just barking at me. Then I had so many tell me to Roll my Ass home. Then at the game I had beer and popcorn thrown at me. All of this was unprovoked.

Since then I have had this knack of working with UGA fans out of the blue. I was refereeing a high school football game one night as a clock man, and my 40 second guy was a UGA fan. Good god he was bragging about bull crap all night. One of his big brags was about him and his son going to the UGA-ND game, and getting sold fake tickets. He was bragging about selling those fake tickets to a ND father and son for $800 dollars. He was a piece of human garbage.

Ive never met a trashier fanbase as a collective whole than UGA.

This is good, because with the talent UGA has available, they can be a lot better than just SECE champs every year. Hope they keep Kirby forever.
When you consider the talent in Athens, I can`t understand why the UGA faithful aren`t apoplectic that UGA isn`t playing for a national championship, much less not even being SEC champions and not even in the CFP. SMH.

I read some of his interview quotes on SDS on facebook. He basically blamed the offense more on not having better wide receivers/WR injuries/departures to NFL. He said it really wasn't Jake Fromm's fault or Coley's fault. Also blamed execution... WR dropped some balls. So it looks like Coley will stay for next year.

I hope Darnell Washington saw that game and the lackluster offense, and chooses BAMA instead. That would be great.
He is not wrong about the receivers. GA took a huge step backward there this year and it showed all season long. But they still have a run first offense, and they still just ask Fromm not to lose the game. So this is good news, because even with better receivers, GA is still going to be GA.

Time will tell - Richt won two SEC titles in his first five seasons, Smart has one in his first four seasons. Smart hasn't had a strong TN or UF program to deal with, either.

He might turn out to be better, but I think a lot of folks forget how good Richt was early at UGA. Then again, he could never get them over he hump, which is looking more and more like Smart every day...
smart has lost three consecutive championship games in the state of georgia. not even richt could top that one.

Both Saban and Smart need to re-learn defense in this RPO era. I know that might be hard to digest with the way UGA’s defense appeared all season, and it seems their OFFENSE was what was lacking. The fix is more zone coverage, and spying the QB with 1-2 Linebackers. Blitzes can only come from the line. That’s it. This will work against the elite teams, but against lesser teams, you can keep doing what you’ve been doing.
I would have agreed a week or two ago, but my thinking shifted over the past week I think Saban has the schemes correct, he's just lacking personnel. No injuries/transfer on defense and you're watching Bama drill GA yesterday.

This was supposed to be Smart's best team since he got there. Tons of seniors and a lot of playmakers in the junior class that came in with Fromm. It says a lot that this team kinda sputtered around all season outside of increasingly fluky seeming day v. Florida. I don't think they're going to be better next year. If they lose in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 19, I expect a very mediocre 2020 from them. In fact I think September 19 looms large on the direction of each program in the new decade.

I live in atlanta and all i heard this morning was moaning about refs and injuries.. We have had a lot more injuries than GA, but we are of course are never allowed this caveat. Could not happen to a better guy. Firekirbysmart.com, it's only a matter of time. This new format is excellent, better than the former.
