One thing, I am not sure you can say CLK beats Fulmer.....not yet. He may never IMO. I know you guys hate Fulmer, but he was a good coach at UT.

Well, I meant that Kiffin's spunk right now beats how people felt about Fulmer's attitude. Vols had to feel like he was getting ran over by other coaches and all he every said about their problems was that "he's workin like heck." Eventually saying you're "workin like heck" stops ringing true even with all his previous success...Vol fans saw the who's who of the SEC passing them quickly. Alabama fans eventually got tired of Shula and his "we're this close" routine. Being "close" wasn't good enough at four years in. Especially when it seemed that we were no closer to "it" than the last time we were "this close."

Brian Kelly would have been a triple play if not a home run hit for ya'll! Its all moot now, so as much as I would like to say, "good luck to you", I really look forward to several years of Bama dominance over UT.

But only time will tell. And I hope we both have plenty of time left. Life is so short and things change so quickly. Thank you for being a respectful fan of an opposing fans site!

Arrogance about Kiffin....none from me. Confidence, I am behind the guy. I hope he is the next best thing. Is he? We will see soon. He was part of some good USC teams. He was a flop in Oakland.

He has said some stuff that he shouldn't have.

I have to hope he does a good job. I am a Vol fan. Did you guys not hope for the best with Dubose, Shula, and Price? When they was hired whether you approved or not, you had to hope for the success of your program.

Absolutely correct, VolFan. Your optimism and support is exactly what would be expected of any fan.

Every new coach comes into a program with a certain amount of political capital. That usually helps get them over the hump caused by the pain and setbacks of establishing their system. The interesting thing to watch with Kiffin will be whether or not he needlessly burned his capital too soon. UT fans are understandably willing to back the new coach now, but will this early expenditure of support and emotion wear thin if the losses mount? We'll see.
