It is high time that all of the bare bones of this deal be made transparent and completely public. I'm getting a nagging feeling that more is involved than just $$. If so, we contributors and fans are entitled to know. IN 99.9% of similar situations to last night, JM would have been pulled. He wasn't. Why not? It's been said that, if JM leaves, then the LANK leaves, including #2 on offense. If that be the case, I believe we're treading on thin ice. Maybe even legally. Perhaps NIL is leading to its logical conclusion - implosion...

I have questioned if racketeering might be involved...

If the players or the LANK crowd are truly running the show now in Tuscaloosa, I'm ready for them to hit the road. If NIL has that much power and control over college football, then the game we all loved is over. Then again, why isn't it showing up for other programs like it is with Bama if that's the case? It's looking more and more like Saban lost the team last year, and it carried over to this year's team with LANK.

There is talk of DJU’s contract with FSU including a stipulation that he would be the starter, period. It would absolutely not surprise me if something similar existed for LANK.

I'm willing to give CKD a mulligan this year due to what he walked into. But he needs to fix things during the offseason so that who plays is determined by development and ability and heart and desire and leadership - and that's leadership on the field, not in financial matters.

He absolutely was 100% given the job because of the Lank collective.

He tried to dip on out to TCU and they wouldn't have any of this guaranteed position hogwash.

He then cozied up to CKD right away with a 'Here's what I can do for you offer' wrt to keeping a core group of guys from hitting the portal with all the other mass exodus guys leaving.... with the understanding of "Here's what you do for me...ie give me the QB1 job no matter what".

He then shares LANK profit monies to the guys he got to agree to stay.

It's a dirty ugly situation and I have no respect for anyone involved in it.

This is not how CFB should be and this is not how the Alabama program should be run.

I'd rather be 5-7 with guys doing things the right way and earning their positions.

Funny HSV I just posted my thoughts on the toxic nature of this whole LANK in Jess’s write up thread. What I fear is how much it has permeated the culture of this team. Is the only answer to burn it down and rebuild?
I fear it’s much worse than Bama alone. The entire sport is tainted. That, plus we are getting participation trophies with the 12 team playoff, and we now have the recipe for disaster.

You may be right, and Saban, at his age, maybe felt like he just didn't want to fight this stuff any longer. He tried benching Jalen last year against USF, and we all saw how we played in that game. I hope it's not as bad as things are sounding.

Well you better worry about that. The players are organizing collectives sort of like the teamsters. Like a business, schools will have to decide which collectives they will deal with. Sort of like a talent agency. JM will likely be involved in the business after his playing days are over.

Any NIL agreement that has a starting or playing parameter should be a violation. Playing stipulations = pay for play.

A horrible thought is that LANK doesn't go away even if Milroe does
