***LB Don'ta Hightower commits to Bama***

Our coaching staff continues to impress me with all the recruits coming in! Welcome to the Capstone, Mr. Hightower! RTR :BigA:

114 tackles, 14 sacks, 5 interceptions and 5 forced fumbles in one season? Those are some crazy good numbers. He also had 16 TDs as he played both O and D. good grief.

He seems quite athletic for a man that size! His rivals clips are really good. With slots filling up I am glad we got his beast. Now we need at least one more LB. Harris....Green, its your turn!

Roll Tide! it is good to get a linebacker committed. That makes me feel much better. Now lets finish it strong!!!

Actually Hightower makes the second LB commitment even though he is still listed as a DE on the Scout commit list.

Courtney Upshaw is still listed as a DE on both the Rivals and Scout Alabama commit lists. At Bama he will be moving to his more natural position LB. He is being recruited to Bama as a Jack LB. He said so himself in a recent interview.

2008 Alabama Commitments and Prospects List (Updated)

I was never worried, okay just a little, YES, YES, come on Green and Harris and O, the Man JJ. And a few more we can talk about later.

Green is a LB. Harris is a LB. Jordan is a LB. Hightower is an ILB, with potential to move to rush end, depending on growth.

Jordan is still being recruited to Alabama as a RB. He is one of the top RBs in the southeast. Scout.com rates him a 4 star and he is ranked the 30th best RB in the country. Rivals.com rates him a 4 star and he is ranked the 22nd best Athlete in the country. Tom Lemming ranks Jordan as the 7th best RB in the country. I agree he is a very good LB but he will start out at RB if he joins the Tide. He is very high on Alabama and one reason is they are recruiting him as a RB where he wants to play.

Bama Mag: Chris Jordan Profile

CSTV Tom Lemming's 2008 Top 25 Positioner: Tailbacks
7. Chris Jordan (6-foot-3, 210, 4.35 - Brentwood Academy, Tenn.)

He has great size, brilliant speed and is a potential All-American at TB, WR, LB or DB.

I first watched Chris when he was playing for Norcross High and was impressed with him enough to rank him as a future All-American then.

He is a big back who is great at finding the hole, shows great burst, vision, balance and cutting ability. On defense, he has a great feel for where the ball is and uses his blazing speed to over take it. He was on his way to having one heck of a junior year when a knee injury curtailed the rest of his season. When healthy, he ranks as one of the nation's premiere players showing an incredible quickness and instincts. Ironically, he didn't grow up following football, just in the past couple of years he realized that it could present quite a future for him. He is a power back with brilliant speed.

Woo Hoooo!! Welcome aboard Mr. Hightower!

I wonder if we'll see him in the rotation next year?

This is going to cut nicely into the oh so precarious leads that ND and GA hold on us for 1st and 2nd place for the 2008 class. :)

Question for Crimson Surfer....You linked Tom Lemming in an earlier post...
I've been tuning in to hear him lately and wondered if anyone knowledgeable about recruiting values his judgment. May I take your link as a "yes, he is", or not? Thanks.

Well he is the self proclaimed number 1 national recruiting analysts. ;)

Seriously I just get the info where I can, from whom ever or where ever and try to piece it together into something useful. All the different TV recruiting shows, recruiting sites, newspapers, magazines, analysts, have different opinions and takes on players and their abilities. I just read as much as I can and try to pass it along if I can.

The point I was trying to make with the Lemming link is that he thinks he is one of the best RBs in the country. Lemming also said he is a great LB. Jordan is very fast and a big, strong RB. Bama needs that type of RB for this recruiting class. I hope Bama gets both Chris Jordan and Brandon Bolden to sign.

We knew Saban was going to bring 'em but it's still nice to see the four star guys coming in. Sounds like he'll be a perfect fit

:biggrin::biggrin:WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME:biggrin::biggrin:
