Yup..That's exactly what it looked like against FSU, Oklahoma & even Vandy in those losses..

I hate it & looks like a coaching philosophy problem which isn't fixable..
I was at the game Saturday; I could tell this during warmups. This is a switch that just can't be turned on. FSU lined up and just easily beat us and I firmly believe if it does not rain, they put up 40+.

There's a culture problem at Bama.

An interesting question, I think. Is 8-4 or 7-5 good enough to give CKD and staff another year? JMO, 8-4, yes, with a seat so scorching you couldn’t touch it. 7-5? No.
Even with a 7-5 season, CKD will be back. He'll make wholesale changes to his staff (which is needed IMHO), and that will buy him another year. But if he doesn't put a quality product on the field in '26, he's gone.

Im going with 5-7

But we are so structurally unsound on the OL and the entire defense that 3-9 is more likely.

If we lose to Vandy at home, the wheels will fly off.
3-9 is definitely a possibility because every SEC game we have left will be a loss if they keep playing like they did vs FSU.

Wommack is a complete fraud at DC.

Every team with SEC talent will be able to beat him because he’s definitely going to be out coached.

The legitimate mid to upper tier teams we have left are going to obliterate us.

Our ceiling if the players actually show up might be 5-7 and a really early Dec Bowl game.

If we had a real DC they might could get to 6-6 or 7-5.

UGA, Tenn, LSU, USCe, and AU are going to kick the crap out of us and maybe OU too.

It looks as though we have roster full of players that want to get paid to play but care very little about winning. So where is the leverage for the coaches or the program? There is none.

Kid goes out and goes through the motion. You bench him, he still gets paid. You kick him off the team, he still gets paid. Tells you in the middle of the season he wants to sit out “the rest of the season and redshirt to preserve a year for NIL earnings”, you say no, he quits on his own and transfers anyway….after getting paid. Tell a guy he can’t enter the transfer portal because he has a binding NIL services contract, he transfers on his own without use of the portal. It goes on and on…

ALL these players want the dollars. But the intangible is finding the kid where the dollars are secondary to a desire to win. I fear we missed on the latter.

Indeed. But that's not a DeBoer thing, the guys he brought with him from Washington played great Saturday.

I would argue he doesnt know how to handle the egos he's now dealing with. He's not alpha enough to lead them and they see him as not a strong leader. They take advantage and we get what we've got.

Was Wommack forced on him for recruiting purposes...?

It could also be a coincidental thing where Germie and Brailsford are wired different and self driven.

Like it wouldn’t matter where MJ or Kobe went in the NBA or who their coach or teammates were… they were just Killers on the court.

Brady is the same in the NFL… nothing was going to stop him.

Why we don’t have anybody else other than those two consistently giving effort though… it’s because they need external discipline and they ain’t getting it from anyone or anywhere.

I’m hoping Brailsford will snatch a knot in Proctor on the field.

Ty and Germie or someone needs to wake up RW.

Leaders on the field need to emerge because none are on that sideline.

All I can say positive is Womack brought the D back last year after the Vanderbilt Disgrace.

We will see what happens as the year progresses. I am certainly pessimistic.

Pretty sure if we win the conference we'll make the playoffs and everything will be OK. Just be glad FSU wasn't a conference game. If it was. we'd be in real trouble.

Anybody know if ULM's QB can run the ball?

I just read Jess’s write up. Their QB can run, at least at the FCS level. I think we stop them though.

I've been watching the Netflix series on "America's Team" and the amount of "We will do anything to win" from both the Cowboys and the 49ers was impressive. Those men wanted to be champions. If our guys would have pride, we would see improvement. Jimmy Johnson was a mean one too. Got to coach the players the right way to get them focused.

I was told last year from someone in the know that Deboer wanted to bring Coach Morrell on as DC. He was told that that would not be an option and so he was hired as "Special Assistant to the HC" and in my opinion was told he would be the DC in the near future once Wommack took another head coaching job. Morrell was promoted to LB's coach and is still on staff fwiw.

Based on the trend, we could be looking at 7-5, with embarrassing losses to ULM, Vanderbilt, Missouri, and Eastern Illinois (with possible additional losses should any of the other teams become unranked), and resounding victories against the ranked opponents.

I was on the fence about the use of blue font.

One of the videos someone posted on another thread identified Brown and Russaw as consistent contributors on defense.

Jimmy Johnson was great.

If Jerry Jones could have checked his ego and kept his mouth shut, the Cowboys would have won 2 or 3 more Super Bowls. But sure, they are worth whatever, 2.5 billion or something now.
