Hello all! Most of you do not know me other than a guy who randomly posts on here and casually keeps up with the crimson tide but I’m still going to ask for drive help from those willing. I have worked as a nurse practitioner in rheumatology in north Alabama for the past 7 years. Our clinic, and rheumatology in general, has an issue with recruiting and retention of providers and I had an idea to lobby for changing a few state and federal aid programs that are currently in place. There are service commitment programs available right now that attract providers with 3 year commitments to critical access areas in return for help in student loans but all of these programs exclude providers working in a specialty. I’m starting a grass roots campaign to work on changing this.
