I would imagine Lester Miles might be keeping an eye on that situation, along with the other entanglements Rich and Rita are currently experiencing.

Regardless of how this turns out, being isolated to a personal financial endeavor, it will have no impact on his coaching career. While it may be stressful for him and his family, his immediate concerns should be finding a way to be successful on the football field.

Yep, his financial situation will get even more dicey if they boot his behind out of the Big House. :D

RichRods reputation in general has taken a hit since he left WV; I still think he's good coaching mind, but somewhere along the way things have really fallen apart with him both on and off the field. Like Leach at TTU, Rodriguez is responsible for really bringing WV up into a steady, competitive program and getting them noticed. I think things had already begun to unravel before he left WV but its really gone downhill since. Its also pretty clear, his style will never mesh at UM and the Big 10.

Like others have said, I'm very, very glad and thankful we have Coach Saban instead.

You are right that his financial problems in and of themeselves won't cost him his coaching job, but the Michigan PTB are smart enough to know that it is a distraction to a program already on the ropes. Much like Franchione and his pay for information scam, welching on a debt will not play well if the team tanks and will give them more leverage to run him out of the"Big House".

I'm not so sure that that ship hasn't sailed already for ole' Lester. His sideline gaffs have started making his stock fall like a Wall Street banker.

I think you are dead on. At the time Miles was being considered for the HC at UM his stock was at its absolute peak, since then IMO, it has slowly dropped to the point that Michigan Man or not, UM will go in another direction after the failed experiment with Rodriguez.
