Lou Holtz

I don't think he has an SEC team winning a bowl game. He has WVU or UGA, TTech over BAMA, and Wisconsin over Auburn. The only one of those I can see happening is WVU over UGA. I haven't seen him ramble about other games.

Must be some bad blood still between him and the SEC.
 
I don't get it. I'm perfectly willing to make insane comments for that kind of pay on TV. They could hired me for half the cost!
 
Lou Holtz was one heck of a coach. He knows his football. He is clearly above the rest of those idiots on ESPN. That said, I think he is wrong in many of predictions about SEC teams. But I'll listen to him over Corso anyday.
 
Although its not uncommon for sports commentators to let their bias show from time to time, Lou Holtz is the absolute worst.! Holtz ignores all facts in formulating his opinions and goes 100% upon his like/dislike for a team, conference, coach, etc.

He is absolutely pathetic. RTR.

No surprise here! He crowed about TTech's O, but completely ignored the fact that we have the #2 rated D in the nation. Talk about bias! mark maybe dislikes ANYTHING southern.....period. Don't see how Reece Davis tolerates him.

He really seems to favor any team he has coached previously........wonder why he never talks about the condition he left those programs in?

Becaused they were pretty much drained and disorganized. If you don't believe me look at their records and troubles right after he left.
 
Lou is a hoot. Take him with a grain of salt, easier that way. :)

I think he gets ready for his show by watching Cheech and Chong movies. :biggrin:
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Lou Holts=Beano Cook reincarnated.

He pretty much blasted the NU program for, in his words, ending the walk-on program, not recruiting Texas, and going to a policy of recruiting almost nothing but JUCO's. When that NU/UM game started, Herbstreit said: (paraphrasing)

"Some people are saying that NU has ended the walk-on program, are not recruiting Texas, and have gone to a policy of recruiting almost nothing but JUCO's. Those statements are simply false...." and he then went to offer valid explanations as to what exactly has caused some of these perceived changes (needed immediate talent, completely revamped the offense, etc). In effect, he pretty much called Lou out, imo, because his little rant came just moments after Lou made his rant on the Gameday show. This isn't the first time this has happened. Of course, later Lou had to eat some crow when NU won.

I doubt Lou will be around in '07 and maybe not in '06.
