LSU fans thoughts on rematch

We've turned into the biggest fanbase of ifs and buts I've ever seen in the last two hours. We lost to LSU at home. We haven't won anything yet. And no LSU is not afraid of us they don't care who they have to play.

I have no issue with LSU fans not desiring a rematch. LSU fans want whatever matchup gives them the best shot at a NC. So would we, if our situations were reversed. They know LSU would smother Okie Lite. They also know Alabama is the only team that has a serious chance of beating LSU even if LSU brings their "A" game.

If the Nov. 5 score were reversed and Alabama had come away the winner, I'd want Okie Lite in the BCSCG instead of LSU. It's just business.

I have to agree with you. If BAMA had won, I would not want to play LSU again. But, I would also understand that it is what it is, and the voters have cast the votes, and we are set. Like it or not, here we come

For us mods, I don't know that there was a winning situation for us. We don't get in, we have to ban half of you for your reactions. As it is, we ARE in, and I worry now that between tonight and January 9th we'll have an influx of trolls who will try to come here and vent their frustrations with the BCS system.

I have to agree with bamafossil and bamapuppy. If the situation were reversed, we would probably want OK ST for an easier game and say we have already played them at home. As an AL fan though, I could not be more thrilled for the opportunity to play them in the NC game.

The fans wanted OSU - you think it's because they thought it would be a 'better game'?

And THAT is what I meant. No intention of disrespect to the LSU team. They are VERY good and VERY confident. But from looking at their boards, the FANS are VERY scared.

I can partially agree with this. I could see letting SANE LSU fans who have a record on this site as having enough sense to get outta the rain and post legitimate info.

Yep, same here...they've been hating on BAMA for weeks. They thought they were going to see a meltdown tonight after the BCS show...turns out it was theirs...its eating them up they're playing us again...
Its funny to read their posts and reactions.

There have been some level-headed posters over there but they are extremely few & far between and generally get beat down by the dipwads on that board.

Not only on TD, but the Bama hate nationwide is epic.
The system says we are #2, so it is what it is. Argument from Big 12 'Bama Haters' is we did not win our conference, did they forget that only twice has a non-conference winner in the BCSNCG was Nebraska in '01 and Oklahoma in '03.
We lost to the number 1 team in the nation in OT, there was no griping/whining by Bama...they went out after that loss and dominated the remaining three games. Is it our fault that the remaining no loss and one loss teams blew their shot. Bama did what they had to do, and all the other chips fell where they may.
I for one think the system worked, the two best teams are playing. I am not lying, on Nov.5 was the ONLY game I sat on the edge of my seat, then got up an paced back and forth during commercial breaks, epic match-up and I expect the same Jan. 9 (just hoping and expecting us to come out on top this time!)

I know I wouldn't be thrilled about playing LSU again if the situation was reversed. But I don't think I'd be as upset as some folks I'm seeing. The conspiracy theories are laughable - everyone likes the system until it doesn't work for them.

The waters are too dangerous. I dont talk to my boog friends during the football season for fear of ruining friendships. Same thing here.

Oh yes I agree, I wouldn't be thrilled if the roles were reversed either, but like you I don't think I would be as upset or talking all the hate smack either.

LSU has every reason to be disapointed to have beat Alabama, but they have no reason to be angry about it. It should be very evident that LSU fans considered OSU to be a walkover game or they wouldn't be so disapointed about getting it.
