BREAKING LSU Firing Brian Kelly

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

My wife, who's not much of a football fan, asked me why does Kelly always throw the team and his QB under the bus first, then later come around to saying they have to coach better. We saw that a lot on the news down here, even after they won.
And the answer is:

A narcissist man typically exhibits a grandiose sense of self-importance, a constant need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. He may also have a strong sense of entitlement, manipulate others for personal gain, and be arrogant and envious of others. These traits can manifest as a need for control, a lack of accountability, and an inability to take responsibility for his actions.

Anything about “better coaching” from Kelly was “Coach Speak”. Deep down it was always the players fault, the assistant coaches fault, the officials, the weather, etc….etc…etc. Kelly is completely incapable of accepting blame. He might say it, but he certainly doesn’t mean it.

The crazy thing to me about Kelly, is that he's really not a bad coach. His winning percentage ranks him around 12th, he's not top tier but he's also clearly performed better than other fired coaches like Franklin and Napier and hot seat coaches like Norvell and Freeze. I think in this case it just comes down to being completely unlikable. Who is going to defend the guy? He's not good enough to be this big of a jerk.

Exact behavior that got Franklin canned at PSU coupled with the losing.

Both were ranked in the Top 5 at various points and both listed excuse after excuse following losses.

Employers want to hear accountability and responsibility being taken that is followed by a vision and plan for improvement that are actionable and carried out.

Those two just want to throw people under the bus and say whatever they think will save their skins and it’s transparent.

Saw a rumbling that Lanning is in conversation with LSUwhoo....that would shake up a lot of coaching opportunities

Lanning has a 20 million buyout.
I highly doubt that LSU is that stupid rich
Also why would he give up all that Nike money and pretty easy schedule. I like Lanning but let’s be honest he hasn’t put together a complete season yet- just got torched by the Hoosiers in one of the 2-3 difficult games they have to play this season. It isn’t going to be easier at LSU!

He has the bears in the top ten, 7-1 and just beat a pretty good OU team in Norman. Thing is, he can keep doing nothing and still get paid by staying in that cherry job he has now. Why step into a pressure cooker with a bunch of rabid fans bisecting your every move? But there is the ego factor so who knows.
oh i agree 100% i think Ole Miss is the perfect spot for Kiffen.
But at the very least they could get them to renegotiate that contract.
