It's only fitting the last Alabama Football Game Coach Moore saw was another national championship win against all teams, Notre Dame.

To me, Coach Moore will always be remembered for bringing Bama back, and as the man who hired CNS. RIP Coach Moore.
For those of us who remember him as a player and later when we were students and he was a coach it not only brings back fond memories but makes you realize how quickly time passes for us all. The picture of Charlotte and Mal makes you realize the love and devotion he had for her and his selflessness in caring for her all those years. I am sure he would say that was more important than anything he accomplished as a player, coach and administrator. He was truly one of the last of a breed and we will miss that.
If anyone ever belonged in the ring of champions it's Coach Moore. I hope they see fit to put a statue of him where he belongs.

RIP to coach Moore. He inherited a seemingly impossible situation as AD, one in which many people would have given up. Instead of giving up, he stood firm in his love for the University, and changed the course of its history forever. Prayers to his family and friends, and the Bama nation as we mourn.
So very sad to hear of Mal Moore passing. I just saw him in Feb. at City Cafe in N'port. He was so friendly and spoke to all of us around him. One thing you could count on with Coach Moore if you saw him in town, he was definitely going to be friendly to all. I was so shocked when he seemed to be in such bad shape so shortly after seeing him last month. He was a man with true class. Rest in Peace, Coach Moore.

"Crimson Tide athletic director Mal Moore, the consummate Southern gentleman who has
been part of 10 Bama football national championships as a player, coach and AD, stood at the
25-yard line, surrounded by reporters. But when he turned a certain way, you could see a
fresh lipstick kiss on his left cheek. Roll Tide, Mal."
It might be one of my favorite Mal Moore moments and somehow summed him up so well as not the AD or coach or player, but just a great guy, everyday. It was just after the Tide won this years BCS championship game.

I feared this was coming when he "stepped down" from the AD spot. Sadly it did come. Huge loss, R.I.P. Coach Moore!
I guess I'm totally shocked. I didn't watch TV yesterday or even get on my computer. So, I just got on the computer first at
ESPN and then TideFans and was shocked to see that Coach Moore had passed. His health must have deteriorated very quickly.
Just looking at him on TV at the end of the BCS NCG and on TV at the Championship celebration in Tuscaloosa, he looked great.
This is just unbelievable.
Just like Coach Bryant, he stepped down and quickly passed. We all never know when our time will come, but it will.
Coach Moore will be greatly missed. He restored Bama football to one of it's greatest eras. He brought great joy to all Bama alumni, fans, etc.

I think he earned a statue right beside the coaches outside Bryant-Denny. He should always be remembered.

So even though I never met Coach Moore I felt a connection simply because of the 1957 deal.
He was a great one and i appreciate everything he did as AD. Very good man.

It's become public now. It was an autoimmune condition in which the body attacks it's own tissue. I'm sure that he knew of it, since it's inherited. Hearing from people around him recently that it was obvious that he didn't feel good. The final phase, I'm sure came on rapidly and he almost died in Birmingham...
