Just saw this story on World News Tonight.

Most days I think our society is in ruins. Then a story like this comes along that make me think all is not lost.....

Marine Cpl. Caleb Earwood married his bride, Maggie, in front of their closest family and friends in Asheville, N.C., on Saturday, May 23, and by the Memorial Day weekend's end, thousands across the globe learned just how special their wedding day really was.

"We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn't want to take a step without it being in God's will," Caleb, 21, told TODAY May 26 before he and Maggie, 22, visited Dolly Parton’s Dollywood theme park in Tennessee for their honeymoon. "I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into."

Maggie, who met her husband in high school, was blown away by Caleb’s devotion in the minutes before they swapped vows. "When I first grabbed his hand, he was shaking really bad, so I knew he was really nervous," the new Mrs. Earwood told Today. "It relieved me to know the person I was getting ready to marry felt the same way about God."

“We're thankful that our picture is able to bless so many people and touch that many hearts,” said Caleb.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Earwood plan to make their home in Jacksonville, N.C., while Caleb is stationed at Camp Lejeune.

Gotta love those dress blues! May God bless and keep them both. Not easy being married in the military; for either husband or wife.

With all the crap we have to hear about all the time this is refreshing. What's unique about this is that this type of story used to be the norm in our society. Now it's the murder count over the weekend or a "Father" marrying his adopted "Son". Society is longing for normalcy and tradition IMO.

I agree with you and TIDE-HVS about it affecting me more than it used to. Stories like this affect me on a deep emotional level because it has become the few and far between.
