Just heard on colin cowherd that the pac-10 comimish said that a school had broke rules by hiring some sort of a consultant. Cowherd said all fingers pointed toward USC and Pete Carroll. I have not seen a link yet but I'm looking (like I said heard it on the radio), this could get very interesting.

Apparently, Carroll hired the special teams coach as a paid consultant, which is a no-no. It's just another shovel full of dirt on the grave, that no one thinks the NZAA is going to dig for U$C.

This too will be swept under the Carpet of Troy.....

Cowherd said this morning one to two weeks. I won't hold my breath on anything actually happening though.

Not this time. All of this stuff has been brewing for a long while. In actuality, nothing has been swept under the rug, it’s all just been adding up.

Even Cowherd today was bashing USC, which would be the equivalent of some of us bashing Bama. He came right out and said the words everyone’s afraid of: “lack of institutional control,” and “death penalty” He never suggested that USC would get the death penalty, only that lack of institutional control has sometimes ended up in the death penalty.

He’s been saying for months now that there’s no way the NCAA can punish USC because their too big and important to the Pac-10 and football in general. But he’s been singing a different tune the last week or so. I know a lot of you here don’t like him, but he’s a well connected guy who’s rarely wrong on his predictions. Even he sees the writing on the wall in LA. Add the football problems to the basketball problems and you’re looking at major sanctions.

Remember how long our case dragged out? It felt like we were under the microscope for years. I’m sure that’s what a lot of USC fans are feeling right now. This investigation has dragged on. When it dragged on for us we felt like the NCAA was doing it to punish us further, to screw with our recruiting (which I’m not saying is out of the realm of possibility.) Yet now when the NCAA drags out USC’s case, many of us want to say it’s because their hoping the rest of the country forgets it and moves on.

It doesn’t work like that. USC is about to get hit pretty hard.

I hope you are right RedStar... I'm so dang sick of u$c this, u$c that. They've been the media super darling for the past decade and the only time the media quit slobbering over them is when they were slobbering over tebow. I really think if the nzaa lets them slide, they are through as an organization. Too many other programs have felt their wrath over the years and are probably watching this closely. Dang,, now that I think about, I hope they do slide..

Couldn't happen to a nicer university...well, maybe a few more that have stabbed us in the back before. I digress but you get the message.

Not holding my breath. I doubt they get a hand-slapping. I'm prepared to be very frustrated due to NZAA's lack of punishment for u$c. Why are we still waiting for the u$c sanctions when it took so little time to take away our wins....what gives? Jerks at ncaa....they make my blood boil.

We waited well over a year to find out the results of the Albert Means case.

We get mad when they take too long, we get mad when they only take a few months. It's the NCAA, everything they do is horrible. :)

I knew this was going to get more interesting the day that Pete Carroll left. Then, the administration at USC goes out and hires a guy that (1) was on the staff when all of this went down and (2) has stated that he doesn't care too much about what the NCAA has to say about recruiting rules. If Cowherd is saying bad things about them, something is going down. He loves USC like Dick Vitale loves Duke. USC won't get anything compared to what we got earlier this decade, but it has been a while since the NCAA has brought the pain to a program. The eyes of the college football world are on this case, and if the NCAA lets them slide for this, any bit of credibility they had left (I know, not much) will totally be gone.

You are so right....I think I'm impatient because I would like to see the girls at U$C get it like they deserve it!

This just in from the NCAA:

Dean Wormer will be presiding over the USC hearings. Greg Marmalard and Douglas C. Neidermeyer will be presenting the evidence against the Trojans. USC's defense will be handled by Eric "Otter" Stratton, Donald "Boon" Schoenstein and Lawrence "Pinto" Kroger.

Recalling that they were already on probation, Dean Wormer has now placed USC on Double-Secret Probation and hopes to revoke their charter pending further violations.

In unrelated news, it has been rumored that an unidentified female seen in a hot tub with an unidentified new head coach may have been Marion Wormer, wife of Dean Wormer.

I think there would be more than a few volunteers to give those bad USC girls their punishment.

I read an article this morning (may have been here or another forum) saying the judge ordered that Reggie Bush will still have to give his deposition even though there was an out of court settlement. It sounds like they're really going after them this time. I have always thought the NCAA would look the other way but it really looks like they want to nail them this time. It may not be equal to punishments Alabama endured but I don't think it will be a wrist slap either.
