Bama Game Thread: MBB Bama at Auburn - 1.8 1:30 CST ESPN

Auburn went with the same strategy as the Tuscaloosa game in guarding against the three-point shot. I'm wondering if Oats had the team prepared for the bigs to get more of the work done in the paint with less focus on the three and guards driving the lane. Several baskets from the bigs came from offensive put-backs. One other "big" stat was Nelson being 3-6 on 3-point shots.

Nelson was 5-9 on two's with a missed dunk and at least one missed layup. (Where is the complaint thread?)
I noticed that, too. Take something away should open up another opportunity, and we got points off of it. RTR!

When I see our fans complain about Nate that he might not be the right coach, etc. And then I turned to CBS and see Indiana and Ohio State with a 49 to 45 game with seven minutes to go. Shades of Anthony Grant, basketball. I just don’t understand anyone that complains about Nate.
I haven’t seen anyone say Nate is not the right coach. What I said was he needs to find a way to inject more toughness and defense into his system to win at the highest levels. And what we saw today was more energy, swagger, and toughness and we beat one of the top two or three teams in the nation on their home floor on senior day. If we can do that consistently in the tournament, all bets are off as far as winning a national championship.

Where has that been from Grant Nelson? He definitely played with more toughness and energy and it translated to production. That’s the Nelson we saw in the NCAAT last year and what we need again to go far. There was one play he was literally shaking he was so fired up. I know he’s been banged up so I didn’t think he would really be able to improve with them playing so many tough games in a row. But he did so I’m not sure if he did heal up some or if it was an attitude adjustment. Omouryi and Sherrell also showed up. If we get that kind of game from our interior and our guards play and shoot a bit better, I don’t think anyone can beat us. Philon was also fantastic down the stretch and you can really see his growth in the last few games! We need that to continue as well. Roll Tide!!

You aren’t looking hard enough. I have seen plenty of people questioning whether he’s the right coach. Spend about 30 minutes on Twitter, you will see plenty.

My new job has me working Saturdays so I just finished watching the replay. That…..was…..BEAUTIFUL!!

And kudos to the boys for gloriously trolling their doofus fans in the student section after the buzzer-beater. After years of watching their players and fans celebrate the slightest success against Bama like they won the Double Showcase on the Price is Right, those tears were extra delicious.

I've never seen a program let a single scoring celebration live so rent free in their minds as AU w/ the Crane Kick.

Our 2021 WRs in FB did that and Auburn just CAN NOT let it go in FB or BB....LOL

John Metchie III has permanently destroyed their psyche.

Fatboi Pearl: "They hurt our feelings with that war eagle perching on a rock taunting maneuver by Nelson"

C B-M: "Don't worry, coach, I'm gonna slap and elbow them in the head for that!"

Mark Sears: scoop and score
