I think he can play in two more games and still keep the redshirt. I think.
I don't think basketball allows for that. I think once you play that first game, your eligibility is used for that year. The 4 game rule is a football only thing. I looked it up the other day.

I don't think he's really played since he got sick, so he may still be dealing with that. I'm not going to fret about it just yet. He still has time to get back in the rotation, and get into rhythm before the tourneys start.

Wish Mallette had been in long enough to score against USC. He's the only one of the 11 that played who did not score. I'm wondering if he didn't feel okay or if Oats took him back out after 3 minutes for some other reason.

That's what I found when I looked it up. I think even CNO was confused about it. He made some remark about preserving Mallette's RS when it was already blown...

The article linked above states that, since they have burned his regular redshirt, they are considering applying for a medical redshirt.

Apparently Wednesday night’s game was the last game he could play in and still be eligible for the medical redshirt.
