The really great thing we have this year, as long as we stay healthy, is the refs can foul some of our guys out but not ALL of them. We can't be cheated that way. We'll always have scorers and rebounders. Barring massive injuries.

Yes and even on my phone I could see them get one particular call wrong. The ball went out on Arkie State, refs called it out on Bama, they did not even review it at all, replay showed it clearly out on Arkie State, they then get a shot and foul and got back in the game game.

Logged on just to say these refs are absolutely trash. Getting possession calls wrong and crazy quick foul calls along with very late calls.

That particular officiating crew may have needed a couple more “pre-season” games to get their act together before working - what @DzynKingRTR might call - “games that count.”

Hats off to Hodg and his squad for giving us a tight game. He's building a solid program over there at Arkansas St. I'm glad we got tested a bit before we face Purdue next week.

Oats has had some stinky early games at home in the past. I think the team played together better in this game than some of those stinkers; turnovers and rebounding were good compared to some of those games. The team played pretty good defense. They shot poorly with open looks and ASU hit some very difficult shots. Flow disruption by the refs probably hurt Bama a little more than ASU.

There were a few stretches when it looked like Oats was struggling to get the players currently on floor to set up correctly and run the offense. I can see it will still take some time for all player combinations to be in sync.

I like seeing Nelson's on-the-court coaching.
