Does anyone have any real information on McElroy's leg injury? They were just talking about in on WJOX and the word is that it may have been worse than first thought. I know he had it wrapped earlier in the week, but I thought McElroy said it was feeling much better a day or two ago...

I'm really more concerned with his right ankle. The bruise can just be deadened long enough to get him through the game. The ankle will definitely affect his throwing motion, if he can't properly weight it when he steps back to throw...

Go ahead an put McCarron in there. No point in killing our quarterback for the rest of the season.

I'd hate to lose McElroy for this game, due to his experience. But, if he is hobbling around and his passing motion is affected, we may have no choice but to go with McCarron. McCarron obviously doesn't have the experience GMAC does, but McCarron is a gunslinger and may put more pressure on UF's secondary if they decide to put 8 or 9 in the box on us and play us one-on-one in coverage.

Maybe we'll just go ahead and feed the ball to Ingram and Richardson...which is what we should be doing about 80% of the time anyway.

I hope he is o.k.

I have faith that CNS will make the best decision come game time though.

No one knew about GMac's broken ribs until after the NC Game..That's a pretty big issue to keep that a secret from the media & internet..So I kinda doubt we'll know if he'll be able to play until our offense takes the field for the 1st time against the Gators..JMO

I hope Greg is fine and I'm sure the coaches will make the best decision. That being said, the comment about "killing the QB for the rest of the season" may have some wisdom. No doubt the Gators will be a tough game, but at least it's at home, next week away at USCe concerns me. I know I shouldn't be looking ahead, but I hope we don't get into a situation where McCarron is forced to start for the first time on the road. Maybe he will see some playing time when it matters this week to prepare for that possibility.

We wouldn't miss a beat with AJ under center.
What makes you think that? We have no reason to believe that he will be just as good as Greg. Yes, he's been in the system for two years and he has a cannon for an arm, but that doesn't mean he can manage a game while making smart decisions like Greg.

AJ has looked really good when he played against SJ St & Penn ST..I hope GMac will be good to go..Cause the Gators D & secondary(in particular) will be the best we've played so far..But I still like our chances with AJ, Ingram, Trent, Julio, and our OLine leading the way..

Of course he can't do what McElroy does for us but McElwain can handle it well.

San Jose State and Penn State are not Florida. Their secondary is extremely ball-hawking. I think AJ would do well if thrown into the fire, but "the we wouldn't miss a beat" is not based on anything other than mop up duty. We would miss a beat for a little while - maybe a few plays or series.

I do agree with a previous poster who said he would put pressure on the UF secondary if they decided to put 8 or 9 in the box. I would like his chances then with a pump'n'go with Maze.

Plus if AJ did have to play we run the ball 9 out of 10 plays or very close to that. Even as good as UFs defense they can not stop our run and if GMac is a little slow we will see MI and TR with the ball and alot of MI under center. AJ might gets reps but I agree it would not be the same.
