Unlike most Bama fans, I HAVE been to Olsen Field. It is a very impressive atmosphere. However, over on texags.com, you guys make it sound like we are marching into the pit of Hell. I really hope your team is looking past Oral Roberts the way your fans are. If so, you may not have to worry about us at all.
I've always liked Aggie fans. I've always felt like they got it when it comes to sports. Now, the more I read over there, the more you guys sound like barners. In fact, it seems that the only difference is that you guys have better colors. I haven't seen any real A&M flames here, but over there, all I see are Bama flamers.
Oh well.

38,

Please, please, please don't judge Ag fans by texags.... The lot of the posters you are reading are from some very sensitive posters that had feelings hurt when Bama outlashed at A&M and Fran a few months ago... You had a right to be mad, and some of them are dumbfounded by it...

Anyway, I think you'll meet the majority of Ag fans this weekend and your previous thoughts about us will be renewed!!

I formed my opinion of aTm based on the high end boosters who bankrolled the Fraud betrayal on the quiet. The ones who were willing to join in Fraud's laughable lie that it wasn't planned, but was a snap decision.
My opinion of aTm was formed by the unbelieveably obnoxious aTm fans who were in on the Fraud deal and posted here for several months before the formal betrayal, gloating about how Fraud had no character and could be bought- no matter his preaching loyalty and trust. His integrity was for sale, and aTm had the cash.
aTm got the con-man/coach, they've got deep pockets, and they've got no respect from here.

Chukker, I agree 110%. Just go over and still lurk on their message boards and I can see things still haven't changed.

Chukker,
I've got to tell ya, if everyone based their opinions on us by our high end boosters, we'd be in trouble.
I can't speak for the football side of things because I really don't give a damn where Coach Fran went or who paid his way. I can, however, speak from the baseball perspective. Their baseball fans are by in large some of the best, most quick witted fans in the country. They seem to know the players girlfriend's names, their mother's names, and anything else pertaining to heckling. However, based on my experience, after the game, they give you a beer and BBQ, and talk about how they hate tea-sips and how we hate barners.
As much as Fran did to hurt our university, I hope that he hasn't destroyed a relationship among fans that I have grown to enjoy.

Why am I not surprised aTm folks are world class hecklers?
Fraud hurt the relationship between the two schools, the aTm fans finished it off with their bull.
Hate is a hard word, I'll just say I hope an aTm team never wins anything again.

Coach Fran has nothing to do with baseball, so why bring him up on a baseball board? Can we not move on? This is a baseball board, and I, like most everyone else here am looking forward to a great weekend of baseball between some very good schools. RTR

Hey Guys, Up front let me say I am one of the honored select few that can say they are a Tide and Aggie fan. I am a Former Student of Texas A&M University and have an open minded view of the whole thing.

The "Fran Thing"

Do you not think for one moment, that the Aggies did not have the same punch in the gut feeling when The Bear left for The University of Alabama? How about the HornFrogs? But that was okay in your mind? As long as it happens to someone else it is okay. It is college football. It is not right, but it is what it is.

"Deep Pocket Alum"

Dont talk about low class deep pocket alum as if A&M is the only University with that group. Both of our fine universities have this group. I think, no check that, I know this group is what got A&M into its troubles in the late 80's early 90's and I bet this group has something to do with University of Alabamas problems today.

"Hecklers"

Come on! University of Alabama fans never heckle? In general, heckling is just plain juvenile. But for some reason heckling and baseball go hand in hand. At A&M baseball games only, heckling has become a sport of its own. At all other athletic venues, you will not even hear a BOO. Not allowed. A group at baseball games known as the Raggies do a pretty good job of heckling. They do tons of research and get information on individual players/coaches and incorporate that into their "shtick". Nothing mean spirited, they get pretty damn creative in fact. Word of advice, Do Not Allow Your Cellphones to Ring during the game! Unless you want to become part of the fun. For those of you traveling to College Station this weekend, you will experience a fun mannered heckling. Trust me, if you have any sense of humor, you will at minimum get a chuckle out of it. I promise. For those of you that travel to College Station if you experience anything less than a complete enjoyable time, I would be shocked. Hell, even the hated sips enjoy the trips to Olsen. (I tried to find a thread on the sipsite that was expressing the fun and great experiences from the last series with the Horns but my computer skills are lacking.)

Anyway my .02 cents worth. Fran skrewed up, Alabama got left in a lurch. But Fran nor the "blue collar fan/alum" didnt cause the problems. Hell neither of the 2 could fix them. Not overnight. No denying, A&M is the benefactor of a great football mind/talent. As a Former Student of Texas A&M University I would be scared to death if you guys were "happy" that Fran left. Hell, Fran might leave A&M tommorrow. Who knows. But in the cases of both fine Universities, the University is much larger than the athletic programs. I try to pride myself in recognizing all the other pleasures that being a fan of both Universities brings to me above and beyond athletics. Trust me, I owe a ton to Texas A&M University and also the Aggie Family. Without either, I would not have many of the life pleasures I experience each and every day. None of these have a damn thing to do with what goes on in an athletic event.

Pick any Alabama fan and I will show you an identical Aggie Fan. We all have great fans and we all have sh*thead fans. Just the great fans seem to be less vocal and the sh*thead fans are heard more.

Nothing like being called an ugly name by a first time aggie poster. Excuse me if I don't like aTm or their fans in general. Maybe if they keep telling us how wonderful they are I will grow to like them.
