Steve Deace has convinced himself this Michigan team is a team of destiny. That their dominance over a weak schedule and Bama struggling with USF, Arkansas, and Auburn...means Michigan wins.

I think this has a lot more to do with Michigan talking heads telling their audience what they want to hear. Hard to get clicks by telling your audience their team is going to get pounded.

It's Michigan / Alabama on everything till he gets to the head coach. Then it's Saban / Harbaugh. They are trying to convince themselves. Do they have a chance...sure. But all those reasonings go out the window when the foot meets the ball.

Everything he said was true, but out of context. . What he didn’t interpret was , and many don’t, was the growth of the team from the early days of the season. Auburn was a one off, Bama played down to the competition and Huge Sleeze game planned all year for that game. But the other games, USF- we know what happened there. 4-8 Arkansas. Young team , first real tast of success . Big lead, then lost their composure. A testament to the team’s growth was a similiar situation later in the year vs a better Kentucky team. They handled that success much better.
The part about the sharps betting early didn’t make sense. Bending his facts to fit his narrative. On one hand , He said Vegas moves the line when the sharps bet,not the public. And 90% of bets have been on Bama. Then he said the sharps bet early to take advantage of unadjusted betting lines. So if 90% of the betting is in Bama, and the sharps bet early ... Never mind.

Remember, Michigan has 4 weeks to prepare for Alabama. The question - is their coaching staff as good as Auburn's. If they are, this could be a tight game
The whole insane fanbase has also adapted an us against the world mentality. They honestly think they did nothing wrong and everybody is just out to get them.

This in no way reflects my feelings or the feelings of other Michigan fans I've been talking to leading up to our game. Sure, we have our idiots who expect to beat you by 20, but the large majority of our fanbase knows this game is likely to be a dogfight. You have a talent advantage, are one of the few teams with a coaching staff as good or better than ours, and over the last 15 years teams who thought they wanted Bama generally found out they really didn't.
Michigan's best chance to win is to not let Milrone run wild, and make him march down the field by repeatedly executing shorter passes. At that point, maybe our confusing looks mean we pick a couple off, get short fields, and win 24-21. If we can't do that and Milrone Vince Youngs us, you guys win 35-17. As another poster mentioned, I'd be much more confident if we were playing Week 1-5 Alabama than this version.

I was reading a Michigan insider comparing both teams OL, QB, DL groups etc against each other. The first one was secondary and he had the advantage to Michigan. Let's see, we had two first team All Americans at CB and a 2nd team AA and Freshman of the Year in Caleb Downs at safety. I did not read the rest of his article.
Man, the intro is nothing but 20-50 year old highlights. They haven't done anything significant in the football landscape in years!

That's a reasonable take.
I can't speak for our whole fan base, but my biggest fear is JM has a bad game (throws a couple of INTs that lead to quick easy points for you guys). He's been a little susceptible to questionable throws and has been lucky several times to not get picked.
But if JM has a good game and our defense has a good game, Roses will be Crimson!
I think he needs to be average - Georgia game like -- and we win
No turnovers and Alabama wins.
