Meh, so basically they said we saw what you did so we've got to do something.

Don't really care, we've lost to them twice in a row now........would love to get another chance with a real QB.
I know how we lost the bowl game... But I don't know why we lost the bowl game. That Michigan squad was awful, but we couldn't do anything.

How convenient. “Probation”, pay some benjamins, show causes for guys no longer there, no schollys lost. Oh, and the current head coach who was intimately involved in the scandal isnt banned.

pathetic.

somebody else will look at this and determine it is worth the risk. You have to ban from postseason and ding schollys if you want it to mean anything. Writing big checks is easy.

All this thread does is take me back to how we totally wet the bed 2023 with the GOAT at the helm.

And to think how we came within a play of beating them with a run-first, high school QB.

The precedent this sets is awful, mainly because of the nature of the cheating. Sure, there’s very little that can be done to truly regulate cheating that happens outside the lines in the days of NIL, but this was a within the lines matter.

This had to do with the very essence and strategy of how the game is played, not by whom it is being played for what benefit. It would seem the NCAA would still have omnipotent power to regulate in-game cheating efforts to protect its integrity and they’d have every motivation in the world to do so by setting an example here. I didn’t have a realistic expectation they’d vacate their title (though they should), but a 1-2 year playoff ineligibility could’ve happened.

I think from now on every visualization of the 2023 championship should only be a maize and blue asterisk.
