Michigan Opens as Slight Favorite in Rose Bowl

Lol, except Michigan fans (who have followed the team for more than 20 years) know what its like to have the upper hand in the rivalry. I don't think Auburn has ever been in that position for any extended time.
About 2002-2007 you’d have thought that Auburn had about 97 national titles with the way they were strutting around the state. Then they came back down to earth.

BTW, thanks for letting me into your forum. I said it on another thread, I've never seen such reasonable takes from fans, especially for an elite program.
Welcome.
Talk about the sport, educate Bama fans on UM players and their strengths and weaknesses, discuss match-ups, and we'll be fine.
One additional reason I'm hoping for a Bama win is that Michigan is one of the few NCAA teams with more wins than Bama (obviously UM is a storied program) so beating Michigan gives Bama one more win while costing Michigan one more loss.
My favorite thing about the Michigan is the unis. I like the iconic helmets, like the combination of blue jerseys and maize trousers. Just say no to blue jerseys and blue trousers. That combo is just plain wrong.

And basketball jerseys on a football field just don’t sit right…😉

Thanks,
I agree with you on the uniforms and luckily Michigan is wearing the classic Blue Jersey and Maize pants for the Rose Bowl.
The only thing I can say about our players is that our All American OG (Zinter) is going to be out and our O-Line, especially at the tackles was a little suspect already. Michigan has had good to very good lines but have taken a small step back this year and I don't know if they can handle Bama's pass rush. Michigan's best hope rests with its very good TEs (Loveland and Barner) and Donovan Edwards is a great receiving RB with top end speed.
I can't imagine why UM is still favored, its probably mostly based on metrics, which do not account for the huge improvements Bama has made since the beginning of the year. If UM plays their best, there is a chance. We have a ton of senior leaders as well.

As a UM fan, its nice to see Buckeye fans live vicariously through other teams, lord knows I did it for 20 years. Bama can most certainly destroy my beloved Wolverines with their talent. I'm hoping being an older experienced TEAM can keep us in the game and somehow our coaches have a decent plan, which hasn't happened outside of playing Ohio State in a big game. Either way, beating the Buckeyes makes my whole year, hopefully the team has higher aspirations. Looking forward to a great game against a storied program!
Let's just hope for no significant injuries to either, because one or the other will have to play in the final. Right now, I'd bet on a Bama vs. Texas rematch. That will be the second time Bama has faced a regular-season opponent in a final...

It's all based on the bookies trying to get equal money on each side. Bama may be "storied," but UM has a much larger fan and population base. A great number of bettors bet emotionally (Bama fans included). Therefore, the larger betting base of UM will hold the line close, no matter what various experts may think of the actual abilities and probabilities of each team...

I'm pretty sure the forecast is for the line to be PK and the over/under at 50.5 by game time.

As I said above, I believe you're right, but mostly because of the massive advantage in UM fan and population base. If it were only the betting public involved, I'd wager the line would be Bama -7. Myself, I don't even bet on baseball or basketball and there the ball is round... ;)

Ok does anyone have this account. I could only read some of it. It seems like Michigan started to struggle some once the word got out about their stealing signs scam.
Sorry, I didn't realize anyone would get a paywall block. It didn't come up that way for me as I was able to read the whole article.

I wasn't going to repost paywalled material, but I might have summarized some of it. But there were too many different comments on various topics to even do that.

Did I get DMCA Striked? :D Yall should check out how many strikes I got on my Twitch, growing up with P2P downloading, I have a less than favorable view on the Millennium Act.

That’s a very interesting comment. I’d never considered that before. I assume Michigan fans are also more likely to bet (per capita) given the regional demographics.
