Several states had primaries yesterday.

In North Carolina, former governor Roy Cooper won the primary in the race to replace the retiring Thom Tills. Good chance to flip the seat.

In Texas, James Talarico won the Democratic primary in the Senate race. A much better chance for the Democrats to win.

John Cornyn had a narrow lead in the primary over Ken Paxton and now will have a nasty runoff.

Dan Crenshaw lost his primary to a MAGA guy backed by Ted Cruz

"The Christians will vote Democrat because Talarico" is as tone deaf, stupid, and lacking in political astuteness as, "If we run a black as a Republican, the blacks will vote for us." In both cases, we're just talking about cutting into maybe 30% of the vote - but neither will reach that threshold.

It's just as smug, just as clueless, and just as condescending of "we can fool them dumb crackers who believe in the Invisible Man."
