I would think that Coach Mike Riley would only be considered if Mal has decided to once again restrict the search to the "Alabama Family" of former players and coaches.

I heard they were living close to LA and he wanted, was waiting on, the UCLA job? Even while he was coaching in New Orleans, his wife was still living in LA and she is still in LA while he is coaching in Oregon. Maybe that’s all wrong, but regardless, he’s about to get canned at Oregon St, so how would he possibly last at Bama?

Not to sound to overly superstitious, but i'm against anyone named Mike at this time. Even Ditka.

As someone who is a fan of Oregon State and lives in Oregon, let me tell you. Riley is Mike Dubose Jr. He occasionally wins big games and loses alot of the ones he shouldn't. I'm glad he didn't get to coach my favorite team, Alabama, a few years ago. If you thought Shula was bad, Shula is Bear Bryant compared to Riley. Personally, Riley is a great guy and I'd even invite him to dinner with my family, but no to coach my team.
