Anybody seen him play? He's not that big (6'1, 180), but neither was Colt McCoy. This guy has family connections to UA and has a great arm. His QB coach coached Brandon Cox and maybe Brodie Croyle, and says that Edward is better than all of them, just not as big. He was the Over the Mountain Player of the Year in 2010.

“He can throw the ball a mile, but he also has great touch,” Yeager said. “He throws a ball receivers love to catch with such precision. He puts it the place where only his receivers can catch it.

“But the one thing that makes a lot of difference for me is he’s a competitor. He doesn’t let pressure get to him. He thrives in that situation. He handles pressure better than anybody I’ve ever seen. He plays to win.”

Aldag shrugs off all the praise from his coaches and teammates.

“I’m just playing team football and I guess they love it,” he said modestly.

I'm no QB expert. I played the defensive side of the ball but I really enjoyed his video. Like his coach said, can throw it a mile but has a great touch. I thought his play action was pretty convincing too. I like Lambert's overall package more but good to know there's talent in our area like Aldag.

I wouldn't guess he would get an offer from the staff, except to walk on. Nothing bad about his ability, but his size is a big downside and we have bigger targets at QB for this class.

Another good thing about him is that he plays in 6-A, against the best football teams in the state, including Hoover.

Very strong arm but the footwork needs improvement IMO. if he got his feet set better he might actually have more power behind the ball. And the MB kids are gnrrally pretty darn smart so he can earn the game but at 6'2 175 he,'s got some time in the workout room coming if he wants to play in the SEC. Will probably get schollya from Vandy, Duke, etc and could walk on elsewhere.

Nice motion, light on his feet.

But who the heck is No. 7? He catches everything and doesn't seem to be caught from behind very often.

You also have to wonder about that height. Is he REALLY 6'1"? My guess is he's really 6', maybe even 5'11". If he's 5'11", that's a MAJOR downer to get a lot of Division I offers.

I wonder how many times they said "right on the money" in that video. I think they need to find a new line. But anyway, that was one of the more impressive QB highlight videos that I've seen. He's got a good release with a very strong arm. He's great out of play action as well. His size is a real downer though, and that is probably the reason he's not attracting more D1 schools.

#7 is John McCrary, he is in the class if 2011 but didn't receive any scholarship offers. He also didn't even start until 2010 but had a huge season as Aldag's top target. He's going to Auburn (not for football), but is a Bama fan.

I went and watched him play tonight against Thompson. Looked pretty good. Real strong arm, and he looked a little taller than I thought he would be. Throws a beautiful pass. I hope he gets a chance to play at the next level somewhere.
