Muschamps Recruiting Fall-out

I hope you're right, I really do, and I will be the first one to stand up and say I was wrong. But what you are saying regarding JH doesn't square with what I know living here in Gadsden.;) ...

Your winks are making me nervous. Any chance you can elaborate?
I'd like to take it to the bank but it's hard without knowing what IT is or where IT came from. I'm hoping IT is thin but you sound pretty confident.

Trust me...;)

That's how they say something else in LA. If you have a reason to know otherwise and haven't signed a nondisclosure agreement then quit being cryptic and tell us why you think that way. What does you living in the city of Gadsden have to do with what you know about Harris going to AU?

They may get Antoine Mclain if he doesn't go to Tennessee and they may get Harris if we can't land him. But Green is going to Florida and Harbin is Bama bound if there is room. If not he will not go to the boogers, he will end up at Florida with Green.
That is very possible . Maybe even probable or likely but , by the time it gets to that point I don't know if Fla will have room for both of them . I just don't believe Fla has very many slots left .

Don't know the reasons for others' comments, but have felt all along that Harris and McClain were in the AU 'bag' despite all of the machinations. Believe they were a ruse to hide their real intentions. IMO, the both end up at AU and were NEVER going anywhere else. Just a gut feel and a little more about that situation.

Then why did McClain try to jump on board with us ...... twice ?

Care to elaborate?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm with you...My uncle lives in Gadsden and he played on the 1961 NC team. Unless the sources are Harris himself, his family, his coaches, or his closest friends, it doesn't mean a thing.

Undisclosed sources pop up all the time on message boards.

Gawd, doesn't it seem like Florida has around 57 commitments!?!?!

I wish we could get that many and just weed em out. We only have 16 and just a few more spots left. Not being able to sign a big class like our last two will affect our ranking, but thats ok. This is one of those years for us when you try to be selective.

I agree. However, I do think that Green is a priority for Florida and they will probobly end up signing him. As for Harbin, I think he is in an awkward spot. There is little room in Alabama and Florida's class. He better make a quick decision or he may end up signing somewhere else. Personally I think he will end up at Bama and I think it would be a shame if he did not because he is a very talented kid.

Coaching changes affect Tigers
The Tigers' recruiting effort is in flux right now.

The abrupt resignation of defensive coordinator Will Muschamp on Friday will take weeks to resolve in the eyes of recruits. Committed players want to know if the team's new coordinator, whom coach Tommy Tuberville hopes to hire in the coming days, still values their skills.

Uncommitted players will have myriad questions about how the new coordinator will affect Auburn's defense.

well there it is folks, we now know the excuse the barners will be using for their lackluster class: "It's all Muschamp's fault!!!"

can someone remind them it wasn't anything to brag about when he was there

I think AU may end up with several big "name" recruits before signing day. Guys like:

Jerrell Harris
Antoine McLain
William Green
Glen Harbin

This will give the barners plenty to crow about how Tubby is great recruiter, and closes strong and they don't understand all of the hype about Coach Saban being so much better. I hope this doesn't play out, but I could see it happening.

also, werent McLain and Harris considered strongly as a barner lock?

They were back in the spring, but I don't think that's the case any longer. I'm not saying we'll get either of them. I just don't think either are "locks" for All-Barn.

Who knows where McClain will go? The recruiting process for him has gotten to the point that it's comical.

I'm not trying to flame anybody, but why are there some saying Jarrell Harris is in the bag for All-Barn? He's been very quiet during his recruitment. Why is it a foregone conclusion he's going to All-Barn.

OLB is a HUGE need for us. CNS has made Harris a top priority and it appears Muschamp is leaving All-Barn for Texas. Why wouldn't we have a great shot at getting him?

All of his classmates at Gadsden City say he is going to Auburn, now I wonder where they got this idea?

FINEBAUM: Credibility becoming issue at AU
Then, the Will Muschamp bombshell.

In the days following Muschamp's departure to Texas, a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing has followed. But one thing seems clear. Bad feelings remain on the Plains.

And the biggest question is how can Auburn shore up the damage and be able to convince high school prospects over the next few weeks that being part of this program is the right thing to do?

Given the turnover they are having defensively at Auburn, I see no reason why any player in the state of Alabama would pick Auburn over us from an objective perspective.

If Harris goes to Auburn, I think it is mainly because he grew up an Auburn fan and no other reason.

Given the departure of Muschamp, I still feel good about our chances with him.
