OK gang, just got an email from Bailey's detailing the various buffet plans and room rates. To reserve the room is $150 per hour. This includes full use of the lighting, sound, pool tables, tvs, and dart boards. The "amateur" buffet is $8.95 per person. This includes wings, billiard sticks( which are good), spinach dip, and chips n salsa. Gratuity is included on the buffet. Soft drinks are not included. So we are looking at $13 person or so after drink and tax. Adult beverages are each person's responsibilty. So, by my count we have 65 people. I was thinking about a 2 hour reservation then we can hang out on our own with the rodents. Quick public school math says that is $1,055.00. If we have more than 65 I can order some more apps off the menu. I am not in this to make a dime but I also can not afford to be left hanging. Talk among yourselves. I need a idea by Thursday. Thx to all either way.

Thanks Baryugin

Broadway and 2nd Ave will leave you with about 3/4 mile walk. You will actually be closer than that, if you could fly. Unfortunately, God put a river there, so you will have to first trek to the pedestrian bridge to cross the Cumberlund.

My recommendation - there is a large parking lot at 3rd Ave and Demonbreun St (1 block from Broadway). Park there as it is right at the entrance to the new pedestrian bridge to the Coliseum. If you can't park there, then there are parking lots and garages all over the place. Probably the next best bet is the Commerce Street Garage, which is on Commerce Street (duh!) between 2nd Ave and 3rd Ave (next to San Antonio Taco Co.).

That's if you can't park at the Coliseum, of course.

I am printing these directions now!!!

Okay, so after all this, I decided to purchase the parking pass which is now en route to my home! Whew, at least I will not have to worry about where to park.

Question about the Music City Bowl....

I am turning 21 next Wednesday and am going to the Music City Bowl. I was wondering if they will be selling alcohol or not. I didnt know if bowl games were different from any other NCAA games...

If you havent bought your tickets yet you probably wont have much choice where you sit. I am on the Minnesota side but I feel pretty confident that I wont be alone over there since we should outnumber the Minnesota fans.

I just found this about alcohol in Nashville....

I found this on musiccitybowl.com under FAQS.

Alcohol:
Alcohol WILL be sold at The Coliseum during the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl Presented By Bridgestone. Beer will be available on all seating levels and liquor will be available on the Club Level only.

It always is for bowl games. Beer sales are cut off at the end of the 3rd qtr but if you are on the club level you can buy it all the way through the game and after.

Also of note, if you live in Alabama, you might want to hit a liquor store while you are in town and stock up. Prices are much cheaper in Tennessee than down here. I got quite the sticker shock when I moved down here. Couldn't believe the difference, even at the ABC stores. I recommend Frugal McDougals if you want to do any shopping of that sort while in town.

I think it stinks!

Beer sales at a college game, when I was at the 92 Sugar bowl the beer drinkers got up to go buy a beer then they got up 30 minutes later to go pee then 30 minutes later to buy more beer. I hated that part of the experience. If ya coming for a beer just stop at a bar, if ya coming to watch the game come on.
