As for the 'releases' - so far I've not seen anything unexpected, but seeing it confirmed is good. For years we've been told there was no bias in Twitter's 'shadow bans" (heck, we were repeatedly told there was no such thing as 'shadow bans').

Doesn't change much for me, but it's interesting to see the truth come out.
I've always said that Twitter mods can "shadow ban" anyone they wish. Everyone knew it was happening and confirmation of it was not much of a revelation. Having the FBI and DHS meeting with content moderators is the most eyebrow-raising thing. As AWRTR pointed out, this delves into first-amendment territory and should be examined further. I doubt it will be, but that's just me. I do find it interesting that many of the sky-screamers out there who saw damn near everything as a "threat to democracy" are writing this off as some nothing burger. It makes me ruefully chuckle, anyway.

Yeah, the very first one was delivered to Elon, the chairman and product architect, before he was named CEO. That's not production but okay.

Your point was made in an attempt to undermine his role in Tesla, which makes no sense if you look at the facts.
No. I countered someone saying that he himself had innovated at all these places he didn’t. If you read along you would have understood that.

So you are simply ignoring the fact that he (or those under his guidance) actually did innovate these things (you can find that data all over the place) in an attempt to undermine his accomplishments. Got it.

He's no hero of mine, but to act like he didn't do the things he has is petty.

So he innovated paypal by merging his company with the one who came up with the idea for it?

He innovated at Tesla by investing his money and taking over as CEO after the first car was produced (and delivered to him). By June of 2009, Tesla had delivered 500 units. So you are just incorrect according to the intrawebs.

He's a savvy investor. That takes skills.

An innovator?

Not really.

I'm guessing you need to read more about his time at Tesla. I have. Acting as if he was just a money guy is disingenuous (at best) if you know the truth. If you don't then that explains your posts.

SpaceX is similar.

Everything is either a commodity or on its way to being a commodity.
Me
Right now, Tesla's research into batteries has given them significant leg up over the competition. If the batteries ever get to the point they're akin to petrol, then we'll likely see more of the old ICE companies able to really compete.

How can you get simple facts so wrong then (like when production happened)?

Sorry, but the condescension isn't warranted, given that you got that so wrong.

I wholehearedly disagreed with the people who were running the FBI at the time this was all done. Frankly the only shocking thing here is how restrained they were. So far I still see nothing other than Twitter bending over backwards to not do anything until it was obvious that was being posted either already violated their TOS, like pornographic images (Hunter Pics) or was actively inciting violence. Only thing I've seen that even slightly bothers me was the downplaying of the Post story, even though that story was a giant nothingburger that was clearly dropped at the exact right moment for political impact.

as to the "Clown" side. Through #3 there was no there there and he keeps acting like he is revealing something. He isn't and it makes him look like a moron. On #4 he upped the ante with his prosecute Fauci crap over a conspiracy theory and his insanely imbecilic pronoun joke. He is really earning the SpaceKaren moniker
The downplaying and banning of the Post story was inexcusable. Of course, it was dropped for political effect. That's the problem with the ban on the Post. They wrongly put their finger on the scale of the election. This coming from a guy that will never vote for Trump. I just don't want anyone, government or big-tech, putting their finger on the scale. It's a slippery slope that will come back to bite you. Think about Harry Reid blowing up the SCOTUS filibuster rule. Bit them in the butt later didn't it? You won't always be in control and the checks and balances will protect you when you aren't but may hinder you when you are. That is a price worth paying.

You should go look at Bari Weiss's latest drop on Twitter. They banned Trump, but many employees were saying he didn't break the terms of service. If they want to ban him it was their decision to make I suppose, but stop pretending the terms of service have any meaning. They were just doing what they wanted. She gave some great examples of other world leaders that directly incited violence and Tweeted real threats that weren't removed. The double standard is astonishing, but I guess it shouldn't be. That's where my problem is. I don't trust these people and these dumps of info just prove why I don't.

I don't know that we have any reason to trust Musk any more than we do the former kooks running the company, but at least he's not lying to our faces about policies, who is banned or not, and what has been happening behind the scenes despite constant claims otherwise.

And yes, if agencies of the federal government were involved in pulling tweets, etc., that's not a good thing.

the stuff he has been saying recently is no different from the fascist crap the republicans are spewing daily. he is just pretending to be above it all for his audience
I'm interested in this. Can you give me some quotes? I agree these election denying MAGA goofs are off the rails and I want them all gone. So what has he said that is no different from the fascists? I need specifics or you are just spewing hyperbole.

his "prosecute fauci" and pro-noun bs yesterday or the day before. the neo-nazi he re-instated the other day. his pro-russia bs in the guise of common sense solutions to ukraine. the earlier version of this thread has many examples.

but when it comes to platforming nazis, you don't really need a ton of examples.

The Russia stuff isn’t fascist. He wanted to find an off ramp for the war there and I do too. I dont think Russia will negotiate in good faith so I’m for helping Ukraine until they are ready to negotiate or the entire Russian military collapses.

If it’s fascist to think Fauci lied to the American people multiple times and possibly Congress as well then I guess you would classify me as one too.

I don’t care about what anyone can wants to call themselves or how they want to live. Do whatever you want, and I will leave you alone and even support your right to live like you want, but I don’t think you should be able to force speech like they have tried in Canada. I believe people with sincere religious beliefs have as much rights to their beliefs as those that want to change gender or pronouns. Does that make me a fascist?

the neo nazi thing is something I haven’t read about and will look into. I’m it down with actual fascists.

Normally, I would totally agree. We're in WW3 right now, though. Spanish Civil War analogue in Ukraine and Russia re-running the NAZI propaganda /sabotage to our form of government with every kind of asymetric tactic imaginable. Really hard to walk a middle path. I don't trust / want the FBI or DHS moderating content but neither do I want unfettered foreign attacks on our country.
