Not sure who yal is, but you just might be in for a shock if you think that Bama can't pass effectively. :cheers2:We don't run the ball and yal can't throw it!

Of course we can throw it - our QB is from Texas - where all the good players come from! -lolWe don't run the ball and yal can't throw it!
Interestingly enough, GMAC was 6' 9'' when he played in Texas, now he's only 6' 3''.Of course we can throw it - our QB is from Texas - where all the good players come from! -lol

Well, we've always allowed rival fans to come on and make the best case for their team. There are always some who can't just agree to disagree and get upset when you don't cave to their superior analysis. We just draw the line at insults for insult's sake...I think he got a few of us as well......I think Earle and the Mod's undrstand and give us (very little) leadway to get ourselves under control before they step in... Probably best for them to decide because I get fired up when people start to ride me with ridiculous comments or stats that hold no meaning to the topic~!~
Was hoping Earle would save me a little sooner but I think he likes seeing me get rocked a few times~!~
I knew someone was going to get the hammer just glad it was not me .... THIS TIME~!~![]()

504, I like your defense, too. Very salty. And I agree that Maze, Hanks, and Peek could turn into the unsung heroes of the game. I've already mentioned Maze and Peek on a previous post and I should have said Hanks, too.
You raise a good question about our D's ability to stop, or at least slow down, a running game like Alabama's. Last year we faced two good power running teams, Okla State and Ohio State. I'd give us about a D+ on those tests. This year A&M ran the ball well on Texas, too. I can see why some Tide fans would be salivating.
Despite the foregoing, I'm optimistic Texas can keep Ingram, Richardson, et al. in check. Not shut them down, mind you, but prevent them from running at will. Our LB's are better than last year's, and our secondary is, too. Last season we were playing a ton of freshmen and sophomores and while they did well overall they have benefited enormously from additional experience. In 2005, Texas had one of the great college secondaries ever (three 1st round draft picks, a high second, and a 5th rounder who would have gone higher had he not demonstrated a documented fondness for ganja). Some knowledgeable observers think that, as a group, the current crop of DB's may be better.
My main concern is that our LB's tend to overrun plays and as I've said before that would be disastrous against Alabama. I also worry about too many three-and-outs; our defense is well-conditioned but if the offense goes into sleep mode, Alabama will definitely wear them down.
On this subject, how has McElroy done running the ball this year? I know he doesn't run much, but in high school he was a pretty good running QB ( 700 yards and 12 TD's his senior year). I can see Saban & Co. throwing some naked bootlegs and QB draws into the mix, especially if y'all haven't done much of that stuff this year.
I won't respond to any of your post except the query about GMac. The rest was fair and well thought-out, and 504's on target. We have had only a handful of designed QB draws this year and no options where he kept the ball that I can think of which made significant yardage. However, as 504 said, he's shown a talent for keeping the drive alive. In the SECCG, he had a couple of "ballet" moves which would put a Dancing with the Stars contestant to shame. If you want to scout any of our games, you can go HERE...504, I like your defense, too. Very salty. And I agree that Maze, Hanks, and Peek could turn into the unsung heroes of the game. There were two. There was the sideline move and then the 360 at the goal line...I remember that ballet move
If I start to refer to GMac as "twinkle toes" don't get offended its a compliment lol
