My Very First Bama Game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys I'm making my very first trip to Tuscaloosa for a Alabama football game. My neighbor is Van Tiffin's brother and he gave us tickets to the game. I'm so pumped you can't imagine.

The house is over in the Walnut Street historic district. It didn' burn down (or is it up?) completely. Significantly damaged but restorable, looks like.

I remember my first game. I felt like Rudy's dad in the Notre Dame movie. I looked over to my wife and said, "This is the most beautiful site these eyes have ever seen". Needless to say, she elbowed me and rolled her eyes and laughed. She knew exactly where I got that. Needless to say also, she was hooked on football from that day forward. It is the one game she will not ask me to turn.

Last I talked to his brother Van was living down in Tupelo and driving over to the motor coach plant in Red Bay each day. Not sure if he is planning to move back over to Alabama or not....

Congratulations! You'll love it. I don't think there's rain in the forecast. Be sure to wear sunscreen for the 11:30 game.

The last time I went to the Alabama/Arkansas game, I got drenched by a sudden thunderstorm, and thought I was going to get struck by lightening. I also saw Bama go up on the Hogs 31-10 in the thrid quarter...just to see them blow it, and lose in OT. I don't think it's going to happen this time.

Are the Bama fans some of the nicest people around when they invite people over to their RV's to eat their BBQ? Just wondering as I'll be a stranger coming in from Missouri for my first trip ever to Tuscaloosa.

I can't wait to hear the Roll Tide cheer at kickoff after all those years listening to it on televison!!

I was going to start a thread and ask these questions once it got a little closer to the Tennessee game, but since one has been started, here's my questions.....Forgive me if I sound like a kid in a candy store...

The 'Bama-Tennessee game will be my first game. I'm coming home with a friend of mine and we, along with my Dad and brother, will be going to the game. We have awesome seats I think, on the 40 yard line, 11th row...behind the 'Bama bench. I have been to the campus once before, going to the Bryant Museum, Denny Chimes, and just walking around the place. So, I know how to get there, but I was just wondering a few things......

I'm wanted to bring my 35 mm camera with zoom lens, since we'll be so close to the field and players, will this be a problem? Also, what time should we get there and what should I do for parking? In a perfect world, I'd love to be there around 10:00am so we can hit the Bryant Museum again and walk around a bit. But I don't know how long my Dad can hang... :wink:

Arky-Bama will be my first BDS game as well. I'm comin' in all the way from Durham, NC to hang out with 80,000 of my best friends (and a wonderful girlfriend ;-)) to cheer on my CRIMSON TIDE!

Having watched games in Cameron Indoor and Bryant-Denny...I think I can die happy now =D
