I am sorry for your loss, my wife and I have been married for almost 19 years, and we married at 19 years old. I have a difficult time remembering what life was like without her. i am sending prayers for the Lord to give you peace and understanding. It is indeed a silver lining that you will be able to watch the game with your mother. My mom passed away in 2011, and one of my fondest memories with her was the 2009 UT Chattanooga game. That was the only Bama game she had ever been to, and my wife and I got to take her. Mom's favorite player was Javier Arenas, and she got to watch his record setting punt return for a TD.

I am a long time member of Tide Fans, but rarely post. For many years I have visited the site daily to get my dose of Bama, since I live in Knoxville. My dearest wife is a die hard Tennessee fan and former season ticket holder, so I have attended more Tennessee games than Alabama. But today I set aside our rivalry of college football to celebrate her wonderful life, since she passed away this afternoon. Today I have experienced the lows of a panic attic when I realized she had breathed her final breath, and experienced the highs at our 500+ weekly youth group meeting at our church, where they honored her life. And there is another silver lining to her struggles this past week. My elderly mother from Virginia, who is a fanatical Bama fan, has been visiting for over a week to be here for my wife as she struggled in the hospital. So this Saturday we will have the rare chance to watch a Bama game together, as we mourn both my wife and my dad. This will be a very special game for me. But above all, I hope you all wont mind if, in honor of my very special wife, I give a very heart felt GO VOLS!!!!!

And of course . . . ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Adding you to my prayer list.

I can't imagine what your going through but my heart goes out to you. My wife is my best friend. We've been married 24 years and dated 11. She didn't know much about football but since I loved it so she would ask questions and after she learned more about it, she grew to appreciate it. I sometimes take her for granted but post like this wakes me up to how lucky I am and how much I love her. I will pray for healing for your heart and wish you the very best.

God's peace to you and your mother. Thanks for providing some perspective. The people we love dearly are far more important that the games we love as fans. And far FAR more important than the rivalries and petty hostilities that we all get sucked into as fans. My heart and prayers go out to you.
