Question: NBC NFL Sports just said Rumor of Saban to Dallas unfounded, for now?

Jason Garrett will be the head coach of the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is not making a coaching change with the possibility of a lockout next season.
+1

I think Garrett has done a fabulous job so far with what he has to work with, I'd be shocked if he isn't hired at the end of the season. I know CNS thinks a lot of Garrett.

Saban is happy working with college kids. In fact he loves it. Mrs. Terry is happy at the college level. I for one take CNS at his word even if some in the media don't. I look forward to several more seasons with him at the helm and will try to enjoy it and not take this run for granted. Roll Tide!

Im not saying Saban will or will not leave Alabama and I hope he does not. But, I think it's much healthier to realize the fact Saban COULD very well bolt back to the NFL and probably would succeed given better circumstances. I don't believe it's a good idea to completely dismiss the matter and be in denial of the possibility of Saban leaving. No matter what happens, I hope Alabama has learned their lesson in hiring head coaches (pre-Saban) and now know it is more than worth it to get the best man out there because it pays off.. No more Duboses or Shulas... Whatever Saban does now, 2 years from now, or 5 years from now, there is restoration in the Alabama program because of him.
Moo...

Nick Saban left the NFL to return to college. Why would he want to return to the NFL at his age, and remember he is pushing or he is at 60 years old. Personally I think there is a part of CNS that wants to prove his doubters wrong that he is only a mercenary kind of coach. I believe CNS when he says that Alabama is his final job.

So all of the "Nick Saban to _______" rumors are simply based on wishful thinking of those who either dislike Bama or Coach Saban. Ultimately, I just don't see Saban wanting to try and coach pro players again.

Saban was promised "total control" at Miami and ended up being overruled on the choice of QB. To suggest that he'd then go back to the NFL to work for Jones is really a pretty poor joke...
Yep, I do not think Dallas is big enough for both Jones and CNS. I have no idea if CNS will ever return to the NFL, but I would bet almost anything that if he did it would not be to work for someone like Jerry Jones.

And when is Jerry Jones departing for that Buddhist monastery in Bhutan?

In five years, he'll be 65. Very few people make major life changes at that age...

These threads are ridiculous. A lot of perceived "good" jobs--college and pro--have been open at least once since CNS has been here and he hasn't shown any inclination to leave. Maybe one day he does depart, but he will leave us in far better shape than he found us, with some nice hardware to boot.

One other thing - if you listen to the interview from Jerry Jones a couple of days ago, he made it clear he was looking for a coach that had won a super bowl before. This was his response when someone asked him about Jason

If the rumors are true Alabama football will move on. If Saban does leave who does Bama go after to replace him? Alabama is a top 5 job with great fan support, tremendous facilities and tradition. I'm sure there would be alot of big names in the hat but my choice would be someone from the CNS coaching tree. Someone who understands the concept of the process and how it translates into winning football. I know he's young but Kirby Smart's on the up and up. He will be a head coach at his next stop. If CNS leaves I would love to see Smart get his shot at Bama.

I also would be pumped to have CKS as our next coach when CNS retires. He's young, understands "The Process", knows Bama, is a very hard worker, is an excellent recruiter, and is an amazing DC. I think he'll be the guy when CNS retires.
