I know this is a ridiculous request and a little weird, but me and one of my friends are flying into baltimore about noon and need a ride to State College that day. I have a ride sat morning and a place to stay in MD Fri night, but we want to get to Penn St. for Fri night. We're students at U of A and wanted a little adventure. Please let me know if you can help us or have any suggestions, I promise if you give us a ride we'll all have a good time.

Have you thought about posting this request on a PSU board (Rivals, Scout)? PSU has a lot of alums in Bal-Wash corridor and I'm guessing you could find a ride...even moreso if you take train/shuttle to downtown Balt or Wash.

i know people who are leaving fri to go to psu from bmore. but they arent coming back until after the game.
I think the OP intends to stay over in State College Friday night...basically arriving a day earlier than originally planned...if he can get a ride. So your friends can probably help out.

he said he has a place to stay in md fri night and a ride sat. so unless it was a typo it means he want to go to psu fri night, come back late fri night to maryland, then go back to psu early on sat.

See, I took that "I have a ride sat morning and a place to stay in MD Fri night" comment to mean "I'm not totally stranded in MD if I can't find a ride to State College Friday night" especially since he said he was looking for a little adventure. Finding a place to crash in a college town when you probably don't know a soul is "a little adventure" IMO. Obviously, jhroberts can clear this up.

You ought to rent a car for the weekend a full size would only run you about 50 bucks for 2 days or get a econ car for 30

Just checked Expedia. Enterprise at BWI has compacts for $16.50/day and full-size cars for $21.50/day. With mandatory taxes and fees, the 2-day rental will cost no more than $67 (plus gasoline). BTW, it's an easy drive to State College from Baltimore.

Just make your way to I-70, then west to Breezewood, PA, then I-76 to Bedford, PA, then I-99 to State College. Distance/time is 220 miles and just over 4 hours per Google maps. Slightly longer than going up through York and Harrisburg but those areas have been hit hard with rain and the roads (fewer interstates) are more likely to be afftect in that York/Harrisburg corridor.

Just realized.... most car rental companies require renters to be 25 years old. OP is a UAlabama student...and hence unlikely to be able to rent. Sorry.

Nonetheless, the route advisory for those flying into BWI should be helpful.

Yeah Im too young to rent a car, and I have a ride back sat after the game. The main thing is me and a buddy just wanted to get to State College on Friday if we could, where we could have a little fun.

Just so you know, I have two engineers on the East Coast this week. One is in Philly, the other is in DC and they say it has either rained all week or looked like rain all week and the forecasts continue like that through Sunday. So travel may not be quick and easy. A decent number of today's flights out of Philly are cancelled, lots of 30 minute delays beyond that. BWI looks fine.

Just saying you may not be able to do 60-70 miles an hour across some of those Pennsylvania state highways.

@gmart74 : I dont need a ride back just there. Do you know if any of them could help me out?
so far i have only found some people that are leaving around 10am. i put the word out so if i hear anything i'll give you a shout.

and if you cant find a ride, baltimore can be a lot of fun.... as long as you dont get shot or stabbed
