Hello bama fans I bought a ticket to the game in Dallas but I have never been to a big city like that before and was wondering how bad is it to drive in a place that big I am staying in a hotel at the airport which is 15 miles from Cowboy stadium according to the internet Do yall think it would be better to grab a taxie to the game and back or rent a car ?
Need some advice about Dallas?

Have you spoken with your hotel? They may very well offer a shuttle to and from the stadium on game day.
i visited my son in dallas back in may, and although i had been through dallas a few times, i had never been "in" dallas. i borrowed a friend's GPS, and it took me right where i needed to go.
Check on the hotel shuttle, that's your best bet if available. If not just take cab even though it will cost you a little. You will enjoy yourself so much more if you let someone else do the driving. I live here and many days drive downtown, but even I enjoy myself more at events is I can not worry about driving home. Traffic will be a nightmare getting out of there.
Perhaps you could advertise for a ride to the game from another Bama fan. I can imagine being from Grant that Dallas would be a bit of a shock, so perhaps you could find someone willing to drive you back and forth who is staying at the same hotel.

Good question. But, it will probably cost more to park a rental car than cab fare, both ways. JerryWorld is an expensive venue. You may be in for culture shock when you see the prices inside.
I would first recommend checking for a shuttle. I do know some hotels offer shuttle service to the games but, a lot do not b/c of cost for them to be allowed in the pickup staging area. (Jerry makes money any way he can...) If you are staying on the south side of the airport You will be about 7-9 miles from the stadium and a taxi will run about $30 each way. If your hotel is on the north side, expect to pay about $50 each way as you are about 18-20 miles away.
I have been to several events at Jerry's world, most recent being last weekend. I live 45 miles (north of downtown Dallas) from the stadium and it usually takes an hour to get home. I will give the city of Arlington credit, they get traffic moving pronto. Point is, don't be afraid to drive. The taxi lines are long and IMO unless you plan on drinking, not worth it... Parking is still available online for $35.00

Cuda is right... Beer is $7-$8 depending on type, margaritas are $16. Bottle water (1 litre) is $5, pretzel is $6, popcorn is $5, soda is $6, hotdog is $6. (what I can remember from Kenny Chesney concert last weekend.)
On a side note, for those who like their coke a little 'doctored'.. Everyone will get a pat down going in the stadium. Every time I've been only thing they have every patted is around the waist band (usually just the back) Women get their purses checked, and they look about as good as a 5yr old cleans their room. Men's security line takes about 3 minutes to pass through, women, expect about 10-15 minutes.
My hotel is one of the Marriotts in Arlington about 5 mins. or so from stadium. Their website clearly states no transportation to special/athletic events. I have no idea how I'll get to/from stadium at this point, but I know it won't be from hotel transportation. I wouldn't count on any hotel providing your transportation.
I'd expect most don't because Jerry makes them pay $150 to have access to the drop areas. Another option is several sports bars have shuttles to and from the stadium. Humperdinks and Boomer Jacks both run shuttles, approx $20 per person round trip. They start 2 hours before game time and continue till 1 hour after the game ends.

Rent a car and reserve a hotel near the stadium. Walk to the game. Driving is not that bad with gps systems built into smart phones these days. Main thing is stay in Arlington close to Jerryworld. There is plenty to do in Arlington and you won't have to travel far from hotel once you are there. Avoid To and From work traffic.
