What is the opinion amongst SEC fans regarding the break-up of the BE and the addition of the 5 new schools? What a frickin' mess!....is my opinion.

Anyways, I guess most BE fans see this as an improvement in basketball, because we dump perennial doormats Miami and Virginia Tech. Although losing original member BC hurts. However, with the addition of Cincy, Louisville, DePaul, USF, and Marquette it looks like the basketball will be as strong as ever.

Football.....that's another story. The BE has and always will be b-ball first, at least in the minds of Cuse fans. I suppose if we had a competitive football team anymore we might feel different.

What do you all think this does to the strength of the ACC? Good or bad?

Personally..the Big East will be hurting tremendously in Football. Losing your top 2 schools and replacing them with C-USA schools, not a very good trade. The Big East will not be able to compete with the nation with the current teams in Football on a consistent basis if that often. The ACC will be much stronger now. They were a decent conference, but now they should be pretty strong with Miami, Fla St, VT, and Maryland. And with GT, and WF on the rise they could be a real powerhoue conference in a year or 2. 'Cause you can rest assured that Miami, Fla St, and VT will be competing fopr NC's on a consistent basis.

About the only thing that will be certain is that the Big East will rock in basketball. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Big East get six teams in the dance this year? Add Cincy, Louisville and DePaul who were in the tournament this year and Marquette who was in the FF last year and on the bubble this year and you may see the Big East get nine or ten teams in the Big Dance in the future.

The Big East didn't lose their Basketball power...they will be fine. The Big East lives off the round ball; always has, always will. Football-wise, the BE has become a glorified CUSA-like conference.

Sadly, I have to agree that Big East Football and Northeast football in general took a big hit by losing BC, VT and Miami. My only hope is that by keeping a BCS spot SU, Pitt and WVU will emerge and get all of the talent in the Northeast. Who knows...maybe UCONN will emerge (big, public school). Cuse football is a far cry from the Donovan McNabb years....what are your thoughts on us keeping our coach? A lot of people were calling for heards after this year, but nothing happened. I don't reckon this would happen at 'Bama.

I think the Big East now becomes the hands down best hoops league in the country. This year we have three teams in the Sweet Sixteen and all three legitimate threats to move on (notice I didn't say a "lock"). Pitt, UConn and Syracuse are going to be good for a number of years....Providence, Seton Hall and Villanova all have shots to make the torunament every year. The additions we make in Basketball give us an additional three or four tournament capable teams every year. By the way, if Warrick comes back, we are a top five team next year.

Sounds like 'Bama has a good future in hoops. Right? Wasn't this supposed to be a rebuilding year for you? How is football looking? If I'm not mistaken, you all have slipped a bit too?

29 hours from tipoff!
