On the practice field in the early days of spring practice, the Saban you don't know decided he had had enough of his players wearing their pants too far below their waist.
"I wore my pants like that to practice one day," Saban said. "'How do you think this looks? Does this look good? Is this how it should be?' They're saying, 'Coach, we don't really want to look at your ....' I said, 'You think I want to look at yours? That's what you look like.'"
"Guys were looking sloppy out there, dragging around," center Antoine Caldwell said, "and guys were just acting unprofessional, period. It kind of came together and he just exploded on us and straightened us out. That was the first reality check."
But Saban softened the explosion with a line that probably has occurred to anyone who has ever been on the receiving end of his verbal shrapnel.
"He pulled his pants down," Caldwell said, "and said, 'This is how some of you guys look. You're showing your .... And I'm going to be the only a--hole showing around here.'"

That happened last season, I remember reading it before the season started "last" year. I really don't see what the problem is because I for one would have done the same as coach. I don't like seeing someone's backside either.

I think the news is traveling even slower back to us. The article is dated July 30th 2007 :conf2: I don't understand why it's being posted on tidefans now like it's new information.

Which makes it slightly older than the hat thread. Their "Saban shows his underwear" thread has 7 responses. "Bama hats" has close to 1200. Does that mean we win or lose?

I'd venture a guess that this wouldn't have happened with this year's team. Just one more little window into what CNS was dealing with last year...

On an even lighter note, check out that sweet leather jacket on the "Vol Store" ad, with the UT National Championship years on it. You pair that up with some some jean shorts and an autographed Jim Bob Cooter jersey, and the ladies better watch out on a Saturday night.

Yes this is very old news. That was when CNS first arrived and commenced his Bama players attitude adjustment or as we all say now the 'Process.' This year's squad has no such issues.
