I'm sure we'll discuss this more in detail as the game week approaches. While I'm very confident we'll get the ship turned in the right direction this year, I'm trying to be realistic that changes might not happen as fast as I want them to happen.

I think the QB role will play a huge role in this change. TS might just break out and lead us to a blowout, but it'll probably be a closer game than most of us want. But when the whole team gels and if we get the combo of good QB, OL, WR and RB play, we'll be a tough team to deal with as we get closer to the playoffs.

IOW, I think we'll start winning as a team again and we won't have to depend on which version of a QB we get that week.

I'm not expecting a team full of transfers to be very sharp early in the season.
Maybe not, but Bama still gets everybody's attention and focus. I suspect they'll be a tough opener just because "we are Bama."

They could play us in a nail-biter and then collapse a game or two later when they play a team they are supposed to beat.

Who knows?

If Norvell has close practices, how are they preparing for the game? Video games?

I am too worry about Ole Gus Bus throwing everything but the sink at Bama, mainly because I do not believe they have the offense to keep up or the defense to slow down Bama. If FSU wins it will say more about Bama than it does FSU.

You know it’s not going to matter if they close practice or not. I mean the REC has satellites positioned over Tallahassee as we speak.

This is Roydell's 6th year. Crazy he's still around.
Roydell was their best guy last year except for injuries. I'm not sure if they have improved there grouping there this year. I mean Roydell was a solid back up for us, but he isn't someone who should threaten us.

Wow... I had forgotten about Early Little. How is he doing? Seemed to have tons of potential but didn't want to do the work and prove it on the field IIRC.

He's just playing psychological games. When you cannot match the talent of your opponent on the field all you can do is try to get inside their heads. Just because Malzahn had some success against us in the Saban era doesn't mean he'll have success again. Although I'm not an X's and O's guy I imagine our defensive scheme now is quite different from the Saban era.
I hate the fact Malzahn gets so much credit against us when his offensive system had exactly nothing to do with three of Auburn’s four wins with him there as coach or OC. 2017 was a legit loss based on how much Hurts had regressed in the passing game by that time and the fact that, if that game were played into perpetuity, Pruitt would still be blitzing and getting burned on the weak side slant.

The others were absolute charity cases that we wrapped up in bows and handed to them. 2010, 13 and 19. I acknowledge the losses, but “his success” against us was basically waiting around for us to screw ourselves one too many times and little to do with his strategic genius.
