Not feeling good about the Iron Bowl at all

A fair point. I did not watch much of that game.
Maybe A&M's QB can make those throws. Maybe the Aggies' o-line blocked better for their QB.
Milroe, however, does not play for A&M.
One thing that I think (think being the operative word, LOL) helps us there is, say auburn does just that, can they keep it up the whole game? They are a little lacking in depth on that side. They are still feeling the effects of that stretch from the end of Gus and the short lived Harsin era. This is a tough pill to swallow. At least when we lost to them yearly back before Saban arrived, we knew they had much better talent. Now, we are concerned about getting demolished, at home, by a 6 loss auburn and are looking for ANY little silver lining, no matter how small :(

I am not yet ready to throw in the towel.
This team might surprise all of us.
Sure, they might mail in the iron Bowl, and slink to Nashville for the Music City Bowl, but they might have pride in themselves, get angry by the barn's smack talking and frustrated with how poorly Bama played in Norman.
If they play up to their potential, they can beat the Barn by 20.
That's the frustrating thing about this team. You never know what you are going to get.

And we haven't lost to them since 2019 so any loss to them would be the worst loss to them in a while.

That said, and as badly as I feel about our team right now, I think we win unless we just give up and don't care.
I do not see this team laying down one thing for this team has not quit on CKD who knows what might have happened if they would have gave that TD to Ryan Williams the score would have 24-10 and who knows we would have scored again JMO.

They come out running the triple option and Wommack runs back into the locker room and curls up in the fetal position.

If we were able to effectively use the whole field we could win going away. But then if we could do that we wouldn’t be in the position that we find ourselves.

“Ryan Williams is Ryan Williams,” Riddick said. “Yeah he’s electric, all this and that. In my eyes, he ain’t really nobody to me. Ryan Williams is himself. He ain’t no big time player to me. Like I said, ‘Bama, it’s a big rivalry... Every rival team I played, I never lost to. I will not lose to ‘Bama while I’m here. [Jalen Milroe] is a good quarterback, he’s fast. But he’s not faster than me... He will not get out that box this week.”
If this can't get them motivated, it's time to throw in the jock entirely.

I honestly have no expectations or predictions for this game. Simply have no idea how this team and staff are going to approach and perform in this game.

Coworker Bama Fan(?) today said to me that a part of him is hoping we lose this game and send JM packing. NO, I said. I never want to lose to the Barn in ANYTHING. Not even at the possible cost of enduring another year of this Jekyll & Hyde, herky- jerky, hot 'n cold, cheap theme park rollercoaster ride.

The game is in voodoo stadium next season. Already not having a good feeling about that, just because it's there, a place where we are snake bitten. All the more reason we REALLY need the W Saturday

Random statistic that probably has zero bearing on this game given the lunacy of the 2024 season as a whole, but here it is:

If my research is correct, since the game moved to Tuscaloosa in 2000 there have been exactly four instances of a ranked Alabama team playing an unranked Auburn team in BDS. Alabama has won all four games resoundingly, with the average margin of victory being 34 points and the lowest margin of victory in any of those games being 22 points.

One of those wins came in 2012 by 49 points against perhaps the worst Auburn team in the modern era, so you can probably throw that one out. Even if you do that, the average margin of victory drops only to 30 points and the other three Auburn teams that lost all had at least 5 wins coming into the game.

Again, probably meaningless given the metrics of these two teams and the entire 2024 season - but it's worth noting. More than a couple of unranked Auburn teams have played Alabama to the brink in Jordan Hare - but unranked AU teams historically tend to fare much, much worse in Bryant Denny.
