I did not see this game, I worked that day. However, one might rightly (in my view) call this reaching the total bottom before an ascent unlike any in the entire history of the sport. It was after this game that Coach Saban made the infamous 9/11 remark that got him pilloried nationwide among sports pundits.

Think about it like this: the ULM loss was our fifth loss of 2007. It took three full seasons (2008-2010) to equal the number of losses in an eight-game span in 2007.

The combined loss total for 2006-2007 was 13.

Since that day ten years ago, we've only lost 14 total games.

From 13 losses in two seasons to 14 losses in ten seasons......un....be......lievable......

I wish you'd take this one and stuff it back in your journal... :D

I hope ULM can celebrate the anniversary with another SEC win today.

My fiancé (now wife, she’s an FSU fan) and I went to the quad hoping to get tickets for the game. She was stunned by how beautiful the campus was compared to the urban concrete jungle that FSU is.

We ended up not getting tickets and went home. Glad I wasn’t there to witness that game like I was for the 2000 Southern Miss game.

I was there. Made a 450 mile round trip just to see Bama lose. I did go to the lunch and fund raiser for Victor Ellis that day and got some great autographs. Was very sad to hear the news when Victor lost his fight. RTR

My how things have changed in the past 10 years. I guess like the addicts, you got to hit rock bottom before climbing back to the top. Mission accomplished on both points. The view from the top is much better after that low point. Good to remind ourselves how far and how fast we have come back to the top. Never take any win for granted.

Between that agame against ULM and the shut out loss to Southern Miss at Legion Field, those were the two days in which I was embarrassed to call myself an Alabama fan.
