Heard on the radio, Nutt suspends D lineman for one game for helmet to the face of Britt.
Good move on his part if true.

He could only suspend him for half a game. His rejection from the game Saturday was for the second half of our game and the first half of his next.

I was under the impression the NCAA suspends for one game ( ie 2nd half of Bama/1st half of UK) due to ejection, but the coach can suspend further if deemed appropriate by the coach

Someone brought it up in another thread, but I don't know if it was discussed much. How about bringing charges for assault like they did against the crazy baseball player swinging the bat? It's something I would consider.

Re: Nutt suspends Defensive Lineman|Mitchell Suspended KY GAME

Mitchell suspended for the Kentucky Game. Full Game Suspension.

AND while the hogs are suspending a player, they are also moving players:

Arkansas is also shaking up its secondary after Alabama's John Parker Wilson threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns against it. Safety Michael Grant will move to Jerell Norton's cornerback spot.

So essentially Nutt tacked on a whole half a game suspension? I don't see how that is enough given his exact actions. He hit a guy with a helmet, that's pretty much a felony but apparently it is only worth a game and a half suspension. Not impressed with Nutt on this, he should have at least missed the next game to.

Like someone else said somewhere, it is hard to suspend him when one of the other DL playing is facing felony charges. lol I will bet, you won't see any apology from the player or the coach. If that shoe were on the Bama foot I am sure CNS would have apologized in the post game press conference, not made excuses for his player. I think Nutt's character has really come out in the last year or so.

When they beat Alabama last year due directly to our kicking problems, Arkansas won the game, they weren't lucky according to Nutt. When Bama won this year, according to Nutt Bama was lucky. I definately saw more than a few blatant penalties that were not called against Arkansas. Both teams had the same amount of turnovers and penalties. lol

I had previously (half-heartedly) recommended that charges could be brought up against the lineman, but now I'm thinking a better punishment would be to lift the suspension and require him to play every down without a helmet.

On top of that, Nutt could fine the guy $50.

The money could be used to buy a roll of quarters for each of the opposing offensive lineman.

Suspended?!?!?! He should still be in T-town, in JAIL! The police should have cuffed him and stuffed him as soon as the game was over. That was more than a late hit, that was a criminal offense; it was assault with a deadly weapon. I know a HS player that used his helmet as a weapon about 20 years ago and he was suspended for the rest of the season and the next year. The victim's mother wanted to file charges, but the dad talked her out of it.

Yall remember the hockey player that used his stick as a weapon? They pressed charges against him, why NOT in this case?

HDN will not admit mistakes. It ain't in him. You are right about last year. You guys had us beat. Ya'll shot yourselves in the foot. That was not the only game we got lucky in last year. The only teams we actually whipped were Ole Miss and Auburn.
