I remember when he was DC at Auburn and he got so mad during the Iron Bowl that he got 2 penalties within a few plays, each 15 yards. His face turned so red, I thought his blood pressure was probably very high. I can't recall what year it was but it helped Bama. lol. Maybe 2014 or 2015?

I read they are still friends but that he would not want to work for Saban anymore. Who knows? He has it made at UGA. Friends with Kirby, son goes there, nice place to live, less pressure, etc.

And "Co" Defensive Coordinator where he isn't fully in charge. Yeah, he's got a great gig and outside of another HC opportunity, ain't going anywhere.

Excellent! Sorta like the story of a frustrated DC, after his team's O had given up yet another pick-6....

"If y'all could just hold em while we have the ball, we'll try to score when they get the ball back"....

Well, some of you could very well be right about Saban keeping G*ld*ng. I read an article yesterday (and it may have been just coach speak) where Saban was praising the job Petey Pie has done this season and he was happy with his performance. If this is actually true and he keeps this clown, outside of us getting an uber-explosive offense back in T-Town, next season could be much the same as this season. Please god let it be just coach speak he was spewing. :sick:

I'm not a Gol*ing fan, but the more serious issue THIS year has been the offense.

Not being dynamic has killed us this year and it's really responsible for all of our losses (even UT) and close games. Just check out points per game this year and we are down to 40 a game. That's down 7-8 points compared to "19 and '20 seasons.

I want to see changes at both positions, but another year of an offense that looks like this year and next year is another 2-3 loss year.

I don't know if I can get all on board with the offensive issues being "more serious". They both killed us but regardless of how much of a struggle it took our offense to put up points, we scored 42 offensive points in one game (49 points total) and allowed 52. That should have been MOOOOORE than enough to win. Then again, the offense scored 31 points against LSU and the defense gave up 32 to a very average LSU offense. Against that offense, 31 points should have been more than enough to win.

Blame goes to both, but every year we have a game or two when we get into a shootout. It happened the year we beat Clemson in the NC game. It seems in this modern era of football you can win with some weak defensive performances, but you better have a dynamic offense to win the shootouts.

2020 Ole Miss & Florida comes to mind. That was the best Bama offense I've ever seen. One thing is clear- shootouts are becoming more prevalent in the Golding era than before. I understand the changes to the game and all but he gets outcoached with far lesser talent than past DCs (I know you know this).
