  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

How about another option to be offensive coordinator if he leaves the NFL which never really seemed to fit imo. Kliff Kingsberry to return to college the question would be if a college offers him head coaching job although not a lot of choices left right now. He may need to start over as offensive coordinator for year before a bigger name school has an opening and what better place to return then Alabama.

That's a popular name being thrown around, just because he's on hot seat. I don't think He's a good fit for Bama offense because Saban wants to go back to running game and be more physical. Is KK it?

Good question and IDK.

I do think CNS probably leans a little more to a 50/50 split of running/throwing. The key IMO is having someone who is creative enough to run and throw in a complimentary way. For instance, I always thought Gus, often with inferior QBs not named sCam, did that to us. He really likes the power running game but it often hurt us in the passing game. I think someone who understands how to use plays to set up other plays (like Kiffin) could do is the ideal candidate. And someone like Sark who is so dadgum creative and willing to use his talent and call plays until the other team stops it (think of Smitty against TOSU in the title game).

Yeah, I can dream!

Excellent, excellent point. So if KK can adjust and adapt's Bama's offense mentality.... He might do well.

Kingsberry is to viable as a college head coach to take a coordinator position. It might be the lure of working for Coach Saban might intrigue him though, just don’t think so. A lot of schools would snap him up if they had an opening. He knows that too. Bama has plenty of options also.

I don’t think we signed all these 330+ pound guys to run a soft blocking scheme, so that will narrow the focus down on potential replacements.

If I’m being honest, I would welcome the BoB that called the Auburn game to stay another year. I just wonder where that was all season: jet sweep, pistol, quick hits to the TE to loosen up the receivers, etc.

What could’ve been.

The problem is Auburn wasn't a good measuring stick. We didn't look great against some of our softer competition, but we typically scored plenty of points and moved the ball OK.

I did wonder why we didn't try some of those kinds of plays against better teams though.

Multiple media outlets reporting BoB to Pats is almost a done deal - may be done already but won’t be revealed until after SB.
PG, OTOH…is a mystery. If Bama holds KSU to 21 points or less, he’ll find a job with CNS’s help . If KSU hangs 28+, win or lose CNS will announce he’s gone to pursue other opportunities. This is my New Year’s wish.
I can’t see any way he stays but I’m not CNS, and PG has been his fair haired golden boy who hasn’t been able to cut it, unfortunately.

Are the Patriots media saying it too? I see lots of Bama media predictions.

SIAP - it’s in the other thread.
And BoB has a press conference scheduled BEFORE the Sugar Bowl- I don’t think he’s announcing he’s staying, I think Saban would make that announcement.
He gone- now Bama has to get someone BETTER. And say what you want, he wasn’t as bad as many have portrayed him - he just wasn’t Sark or LK. Few are…,
