gotta give props to coach kines. he made a nice adjustment after our D allowed a TD drive. we are mixing up man and zone nicely making it hard to get a presnap read for mitchell
 
I thought we should have went after them on tose last 2 times we had the ball. Could be because BC's limp? the way dominated I would have liked to been up by more.
 
few half-time thoughts:

I think Brodie needs to take a little off of his passes.....he's tending to sail them a little bit right now. No, I'm not making that as an excuse for drops either.

Great adjustments by the D after that first drive.

OL has looked the best on run block this year, so far. Keep it up. Still lots of room for improvement though.

besides the kick OB, Christensen's been alright.

edit: if we'd have called a TO, we'd have 42 secs left on the 37. I'm just friggin furious we put our players in harms way like that. It doesn't make sense.

... I'm seeing a trend. Somebody needs to say something about this to the coaches before they realize it the hard way... if they haven't already.
 
Great first half for the Tide.

Very smart to play it safe on that last possession. If he takes a knee on those last couple of plays, fans would be complaining about it.

He plays it safe with a couple of runs and a pass (how vanilla is a 3rd down pass in your own territory, anyway?) because, who knows, maybe we break one.

I'll take it. I just hope that Brodie is just tired and that Castille just got hit the wrong way.

We'll find out in a few minutes.
 
Anybody noticed that we have 0 penalties in the 1st half? thats impressive not having any false starts on the road. This line might be starting to come into there own today folks.


USC has ran 10 plays since scoring with 5;16 to go in the 1st quarter. I'd call that GREAT D

This could be fatigue. Brodie has been more active in this game than he's been in over a year. Plus, it's our first game during the heat of the day.
 
how our defense schemes for USC's halftime adjustments is big. We'll know when Bama gets another 3 and out at the start of the 3rd.

it's all situational. you want to try a few things on first and 2nd before you decide to take a knee (btw i've never heard of anyone taking a knee to go to half time). so what if darby broke a few tackles and made a 50 yard run to put us at USC 20 yard line? the situation suddenly changes and we will try to score before half. but if those tries don't work, then we just run out the clock and go to half. either way we lose nothing. you just don't make a decision like that with a snap of finger when 40 secs are still on the clock.
