Honestly, though, I don't think they match up with us well at all, talent-wise.

how our defense schemes for USC's halftime adjustments is big. We'll know when Bama gets another 3 and out at the start of the 3rd.

the main problems that USC has is 1) they can't run the ball and forcing bama to just do whatever they want with their down linemen (i saw so many stunts by our D-line) 2) Mitchell can't stretch the field with his arm so we can just play zone while only sending 4 linemen.

there is really nothing much spurrier can do when your offense can't run the ball and you have no vertical passing game.

Nothing would make me happier if we can score a couple more times in the third and get JPW in there. After seeing Brodie limp, the first visions in my head was a befuddled JPW trying to negotiate our offense in hostile territory.

I know man. This is just one of my things I get worked up about. It wouldn't bother me if Tim hadn't had his knee ripped apart last season.

I'm not moaning about taking timeouts into the locker room (although I don't agree with it).

I'm moaning about them knowingly using a recently injured player to kill the clock (knowing he's going to take a hit). If they really expect Castille to bust one for 65-75 yards, then okay... but I think they were just trying to get to the locker room.

I think we set ourselves up for bad things to happen that way.

Maybe it's the once - err twenty-four times bitten twice shy line of thinking I've grown accustomed to.

so what if darby broke a few tackles and made a 50 yard run to put us at USC 20 yard line?

Then we would have gone to the locker room with the ball lying on the USC 20 yard line and the time on the scoreboard would read "0:00"

I've determined I'm the only one with this line of thinking, so I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut. It's not the first time I've been off base with my line of thinking. I am proud of our guys though and I look forward to a great 2nd half!
