Somebody help me out. In his entire career at Alabama, how many games did Saban lose against teams that were double digit underdogs?

Based on what I can find ... Nick Saban lost 1 game against a team that was a double-digit underdog during his entire career at Alabama (2007–2023): the 2007 loss to Louisiana-Monroe

This team was never going unbeaten, I don’t think any teams goes unbeaten this year but to lose out the gate to a team that went 2-10 a year ago bringing in players and coaches that weren’t even in the program a year ago? After all the hype, the talk, this is how we come out? We lose to Georgia? Fine. Lose to South Carolina? okay. Lose a fluky IB in JHS? Whatever.

But this? This is bad, and we didn’t just lose, we got dominated on both sides of the ball.

I thought we would at least have an offense that could score, but we don't look too sharp there. I thought Grubb was a masterful play caller. I had no idea what our defense would be like, and now it looks like we have no defense. I think Deboer and Grubb are just playing BAMA for a big buy out.

Maybe the team will come out of this learning a lot about themselves and improving from this point on.

Could be one of those “oh snap” loses that galvanized the rear of the season. Always best to lose early. But with this staff’s record, I’m not banking on it. We just get worse and worse throughout the year.

Bama was not prepared for this game & that’s on the coaches. Simpson, I believe, did ok in this game. OL was mostly garbage: no running game apart from the first drive & Ty was running for his life. Defense was good in spots only. The coaching staff better get it together or it’s going to be a long season. Also, I don’t know if anyone has coined the phrase “3rd and Womack”, but I would like the trademark.
